A Mech a Day - Day 113 - Longbow

This is a Longbow. It is pretty much a Stalker, but I like this one more. I have a nostalgia boner for this one cause it was one of my favourite mechs in MW4 Mercs.

This thing is an 85 ton mech, same as the Stalker, that has a 255 standard engine, like the stalker, and has a top speed of 54kph, like a stalker, and like a stalker, specializes in missiles. Whether you choose to use the Stalker or the Longbow is purely by preference.

Originally introduced in 2480, this is one of the earliest mechs introduced to BT, with proper production of more advanced models being produced en-mass in 2610 onwards. It was largely used throughout the SLDF armies as a very effective fire support mech, able to rain down hell from a great distance.

As far as equipment goes, it very much packs a punch! It's primary armament is a pair of LRM-20 launchers, with a backup pair of LRM-5's for extra punch if needed. For short range backup it has a pair of Medium Lasers. It also comes with plenty of ammo, meaning it can stay in combat for extended periods of time. To keep it running cool, it packs 22 heat sinks, allowing it to fire rapidly for extended periods of time. It did only have 14 tons of armour though, white for an assault is on the low end, but it wasn't designed for close range battles anyway.

I love this mech. The older art and in MW4M it looked fucking stupid, and I have those rose tinted glasses for it. When I saw the new art I have used here, goddesses I just fell in love again. This thing looks like a beast!
