In the car on the way to get stitches. I left a puddle of blood the size of my head behind on their carpet.
Barely missed my eye and jugular. He grabbed hold and shook. One of the scariest things to ever happen to me.
This was the picture i sent my boss to let him know i would not be in to work the next day.
**edit just to tell the story: i did not provoke him. I had already been drinking downtown for my moms birthday and that same night my brother was throwing a party at his house for his birthday. He has roomates. And one of those roomates has two saint bernards. I was incited to the party via a facebook event but didnt think i was going to go until drunk mom wants to say hi to her son on the way home from the bars. We stopped by and only planned to be there for about 10 minutes. We were let in by my brother and i immediately told him me and mom were hammered. My boyfriend asked if the dog on the couch was friendly, we were told yes. And we all greeted him and gave him pets. I then sat on the floor as there was no couch seating and i am lazy. The dog proceded to stand up and start walking around the room which seemed pretty normal. But my brothers girlfriend said he was getting nervous and that they should put his harness on. They grabbed his harness and leash which seemed to not please him too much. Once they got it all on him they continued with the converaation they were having while the dog was standing a little ways behind me and to my left. I dont remember why i turned. But i turned to my left to look at somethi g and he lunged. He grabbed hold and shook hard. My brother had to punch him in the face to get him off.
From my understanding my brother and his girlfriend moved into this house with the knowlege that they would look after the dogs while the owner is away. (Hes a truck driver so goes away for long periods of time) after about a month of living there they were told the dogs have "nervous tendencies" which is why the one was put away, Because he showed his nervousness more. But obviously they both should have been put away. **

Gross bandaid is gross. I left it on way too long because i was scared to take it off
Soooo puffy this is 3 days post bite.
All that greasy shit is ointment.
Awe yea. I look way tougher than i am. 5 days and counting. This was in the morning.
Starting to heal. This was about 1 week post bite. I noticed it swelled up during the night and then slowly deflated during the day.
Initially the red in my eye wasnt there. It showed up like a week in.
Getting better...
Nice color palette in the bruising.
I took my stitches out myself. The hardest part was the two in my neck. Couldnt see them... Took alot of effort.
Theres my new butthole....
Two weeks post bite.
And then three weeks post bite. Had a runway show not long after. It healed up pretty nice. Theres a little scarring but most people dont notice when i have makeup on. It still gets kind of sensitive and when i push on it it gives me a weird sensation behind my eyeball. Like cold liquid being squirted in there... Yummy.

You win some you lose most. That’s what I always say.
sunkenroad62
Great progress pics. Sorry it happened. I never trust an owner when they say the dog doesn't bite. You never know. Stunning last pic.
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
I was always cautious i thought. But now im super cautious. The lamest of all superheroes. And thank you.
ILoveGiantBananasForScale
Was not expecting last pic. Holy shit.
Kaluthelurker
Did you go back later to bite him in the face and establish dominance?
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
Naw. I dont blame him. It was the owners fault. If anything i shoulda went and bit the owner.
Kaluthelurker
It's cool that you've got that attitude about it. Befriend the dog, establish dominance. As alpha, have dog take out owner. You now have dog
gr8snd
A St. Bernard? Are you sure? They are giant mounds of love.
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
Pretty positive. From what i gather he wasnt very well taken care of. Probably pent up energy and nervousness
gr8snd
Wow, I've had a number in my life and they never had an aggressive bone in their bodies. Sorry you suffered that.
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
Yea its the same with all breeds. They can all be nice or they can all be mean. Depends how its raised. And thank you. :)

"Cold liquid being squirted in there" interesting...
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
I know. I'm not sure. Maybe some kind of nerve damage...? I dont have insurance so it will be a mystery.
2and900
Did you bite him back?
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
No. Haha it happened so quick i literally did nothing. Didnt even scream. I shoulda went and bit the owner though
gotchasucka
You clean up nice!
Astr0spaceCat
I couldn’t figure out your age thruthe whole post. I was like is she maybe 16? Then bam! Last pic you look at least 20. Hope u feel better!
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
Im 24. Haha thanks. Its the blood i bathe in.... Which is obviously my own
Astr0spaceCat
That’s very efficient of you. Creating your own supply of blood baths.
klaim11
I hope they put the dog down. That behavior is never okay.
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
The dog was not put down. I did nothing to provoke him. Just sitting on the ground in the wrong spot. I did file a report with animal 1/2
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
Control. So that they know now that he is capable of this
physicsisabitch
Always two sides to a story.
OhKittyWhoaKitty
May you never ever ever be trusted with a dog. You have zero info, yet advocate for a dog's death? There are a million reasons dogs bite.
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
Exactly. I dont blame the dog at all. It wasnt my fault either. Bad circumstances and irresponsible ownership
MrNemo99
One of the most tolerant dogs, you did something bad.
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
Nope. I was at a house party sitting on the floor not even paying attention.
MrNemo99
Just don't believe you.
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
Well alright then. Have a good day
CaptnFuckWaffle
a saint bernard? the floppy tard of the dog world? What did you do to get bitten?
OhKittyWhoaKitty
Maybe it was all the middle finger throwing? Most dogs will chase birds.
2and900
I learned earlier today that saint bernards apparently flip out and eat peoples' faces sometimes for no reason.
ruolandsliet
It's a massive and powerful dog, if it isn't socialized it can hurt people pretty bad, just like any dog.
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
I was sitting on the floor minding my own business. Irresponsible dog ownership. Doesn't matter the breed of the dog. They can all get mean.
CaptnFuckWaffle
i dunno, i dont see it just coming up and being like " fuck you in particular" and biting you int he face without some kind of provocation.
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
Again. I didnt provoke him. But i dont blame him either. Too many people and i was on his eye level. Shit happens. He shouldnt have been out
grndpnder
A friends dog jumped off the couch and bit a 3 year old in the face while she was drawing at the coffee table. Totally unprovoked.
ExportAverte
Can't trust dogs or homeless people.
shutsman
Who hurt you?
ExportAverte
A homeless person with a dog.
Thresholdpush
My sister was bitten by one when she was around 9. Person walking it assured us he was friendly. Tore through her hand between her fingers.
Thresholdpush
Wagging tail, petting, then just turned and bit. Zero provocation. Clamped down twisted.
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
My sister had something similar when she was five. One second the dog was fine and the next he jumped up and ripped her ear almost clean off
Thresholdpush
Yikes. Repaired hopefully? Luckily not an eye or main artery.
HaileyHaileyBoBaileyBonanaFannaFoFaileyFeeFiMoMaileyHailey
Yea they were able to staple it back on. Shes got a cool scar
Thresholdpush
Nice. Scars are just character anyway.
