Looks Romanian actually. The dish is called Mămăligă and is essentially cornmeal. Served with soft cheese or sour cream. It's a carb staple.

I was thinking potatoes that were put into a high powered food processor. Never seen cornmeal gluey like that, but pulverized potatoes do.
Cornmeal does do it. I'm not a fan at all. Imho it tastes like nothing with the texture between porridge and adhesive.

I always got home cooked food from real chefs in the swedish army. They were so good we called them Trossnaz (tross is the army kitchen)
