Comedy is easy. Irony is hard. Go get'em, @OP

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Keep at it. Apperantly it takes years and years to become really good.

If stand up doesn't work for you. Try sitting. Hahaha don't steal my joke.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm working on 5 minutes for an open Mic. Good luck, dude.

Where are you doing standup? If you're close by, I'd be interested to check out your show.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

George Carlin once mentioned in an interview about how he had to try and try before he found comfort in a particular "style".

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can't imagine anything harder than stand up comedy...besides MY DICK. HAHAHAHA. I should try stand up. No I shouldn't.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Everybody laughed at me when I told them I wanted to be a comedian. Ha, well no one is laughing now!

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That's awesome keep strong wish I had courage man!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was gonna try stand up, but then I remembered I'm not funny.

Everyone who's talked about comedy says you flop until you figure out what jokes work and what don't. Good on you for getting started.

Even the top comics try out their material in small rooms to learn what works and what doesn't.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Very true. Recently saw an Emmy award-winning comedian trying out hit-and-miss material on a room of about 35 people. Have to try new things

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When Louis CK toured here he showed up at all the small comedy clubs and even bars with comedy nights unannounced to just try shit out.

You weren't that bad! It was just the four tequila shots you took before going up. Love you, lady!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You've only failed once you've given up. This is practice!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Comedy is insanely difficult. The material has to be adjusted for each audience, and you can't do that until you interact with them.

Fozzie?!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just heard a great interview with Aziz Ansari the other day. He said when he goes out and bombs he knows he is pushing himself. Comedy 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can become easy if you do the stuff you know people will laugh at. Keep it up, you'll probably do just fine. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When you come to it, And you can't go through it, And you can't knock it down, You know that you've found... THE WALL. THE WALL. THE WALL.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When I get knocked down, I get up again, ya never gonna keep me down. ::repeat::

All successful comedians have your attitude, but not everyone with your attitude becomes a successful comedian.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

In other words, good luck, but it's also important to know when to quit.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Find a theme and stick with it. Don't meander awkwardly from joke to joke that aren't related. But I have 0 experience so what do I know.

They laughed when I said I was going to be a comedian. They're not laughing now! — Bob Monkhouse (1928–2003)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Goos for you! My friends say I should do stand up but most of my jokes come from just being an ass and people assuming I'm joking.

9 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 6

Thanks to my depression I reached a point where I can't tell anymore.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good* damn it

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'm the same way, I can be really funny but it's usually just feeding off of other people. I'd be terrified to do stand up

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

I'm not really scared but I have tried writing stuff out and it doesn't have the same energy. Falls flat. But get me around a group of

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

People and I can have everyone laughing for hours

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You pull down your pants for them?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Daaang!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah same. People have told me to try writing and offered to proofread it for me but writing is hard when your more "on-the-spot" funny

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, stick with it. It just takes practice, and a complete lack of conscience.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See I'm the complete opposite I make killer jokes but most people think I'm being an asshole

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Have you tried explaining why its funny? From my experience that solves everything

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I do or friends who get that I'm joking explain it but a joke loses its kick once it's explained
