Absolutely terrifying video of the Little Rock tornado crossing Cantrell next to the Purple Cow. The person shooting the video gets thrown to the ground with glass and debris flying everywhere. 2 minor injuries here. Incredible video by Kimberly Shaw.

What the fuck kind of idiot tries to hold on to a glass fucking door in a tornado?

look! a massive windstorm with flying debris. ill just hang onto THIS GLASS DOOR until it goes by . . .

And that's why you get your ass to an interior room, away from windows. Preferably a basement bathroom.

Who the fuck just chills by glass during a storm like that? Isn’t that basic knowledge you learn not to do as a child?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Screw the restaurant, kids. GET IN THE BATHROOM AND LOCK THE DOOR!!

Insane video. I hope they wore their brown pants. Jokes aside, those people are beyond lucky. Everyone please do the opposite of what this video shows if you ever find yourself in a tornado. Get to the middle of the building (likely a bathroom like they are in the end of the video), away from any glass if possible, and get as low as you can. Only 2 minor injuries is nuts.

Those people are beyond stupid.

Also that.

Now THAT'S how you risk your life to make a video for internet points

Sorry, but these people are idiots.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Obviously they haven't watched Twister. You don't fight a tornado for the door.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

You do if you want to move the story forward.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You don’t fight a tornado, period.

It’s Friday the 13th and you’re a randy teenage counselor. The tornado is Jason. You won’t beat it. You won’t outrun it. Best you can do is hide and hope it passes you by for other prey.

Wow. I don’t even live in a tornado-prone area and even I know to stay away from windows and get as far inside as you can. I’m glad they were ok, but these people are just stupid trying to hold a glass door closed like that against a tornado.

A few years ago a local gas station/convenience store was in the path of one. The people in it got in the beer cooler, and they could feel it moving. It didn't get thrown about, tho.

I feel like i am seeing way more tornado content this year

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Better get used to it.
And, hey! Hurricane season is right around the corner, so that should be fun…

I always hear about them there boring anymore

Every year video and photography becomes much easier to create and distribute, so even if the number of storms does stay the same, the number of videos will go up.

You best start believing in F3 tornadoes... you’re in one!

I guess this genius never saw the video of a 2x4 going through a cylinder block wall.

"Currently, 1,796 tornadoes have been preliminarily confirmed across the U.S. in 2024, the second-most on record, only 21 behind the historic 2004 severe weather season, which saw 1,817 tornadoes." https://www.weather.gov/news/250703_tornado_activity

I had a British room-mate once. The sirens went off and he ran outside to look. I yelled to get in and take cover and he said, and I quote, "Wot?!? Because of a litt'l wind? You 'Mericans are woosies!" We didn't get hit but later, on the tv news, I pointed out what looked like a brick being sucked up and tossed and explained to him that it was a mini-van with people inside of it. He didn't believe me until I showed him the newspaper article. Twisters are serious as a heart attack. TAKE COVER.

Foolish choice to stay by the door to film, let alone try to hold the door. If the wind was going to take it you'd be holding onto a kite ready to turn into sharp bits in an instant. There's a reason they tell you to avoid windows and get to a central part of the building as you can. This guy is fortunate to have the opportunity to now know in exquisite detail why those recommendations exist.

Is that tattoo Chinese for “I’m a god damn moron”?

I'd give that 10 F's, nevermind 3.

Holy schnikie!

Is it strange that in such a situation, I would be whoopin' and laughing my arse off? Angry weather delights me - let Mother Nature teach us a lesson, we damned well need one! (But just seem dedicated to refusing to learn it.)

It's not "an incredible video": This is just a demonstration of how incredibly stupid some humans are. They should of been in a safer place.

Should *have, but yes, you're right.

I chose my words intentionally. No one likes a grammar nazi on the internet.

Huh? No you didn't, lol.

Not my first rodeo around the English language there mate.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why. The fuck. Did they try to HOLD the DOOR against a TORNADO.

1 year ago | Likes 228 Dislikes 2

They have never watched Twister from the beginning

Tornados can't come in if you don't open the door. That's the law.

As long as they're beating Mississippi they're happy.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You're not wrong. But I do remember the local news using this video on a segment of what not to do during a tornado. So we at least called them out for their stupidity.

because this is america and more likely the supervisor, who is less intelligent then the employees seen filmed here. told them to.

The lack of tornado sirens is concerning. Did doge do away with them to save a few cents?

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Did they learn anything?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why didn't any of the locals tell these idiots to duck under the counter?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

These are probably the locals, I have relatives in tornado alley that will try and watch tornadoes from their porch.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have hard time believing a local would try to fight a tornado at the door.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You don't have family in tornado alley, do you?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Always avoid windows and exterior doors during heavy storms like this... a Tornado can lift a building, you have no chance holding a door closed in that type of situation... barricade yourself as far inside the structure as possible, cover yourself with thick blankets or towels if available. Really lucky it was only 2 minor injuries here...

1 year ago | Likes 311 Dislikes 1

Also this.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey, you don’t get those sweet, sweet meaningless internet points without breaking a few exterior doors and windows (and bones and arteries and hourly employees and smartphones…)

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

150mph wind speed can create a static pressure of >50psi. Even a fraction of that for something as big as a door (>3000in²) means you're going with it even if you're on the leeward side

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The number of homeshot videos with tornadoes in them shows how little people in tornado alley believe they will be killed until it happens to them.

It's a bit nuts, but you get tornado warnings several times each season, and for the majority of people in the area of the warning... nothing happens. I always went for shelter, but I can see how after years of it, people's guards drop. I remember one time the siren went off while I was in my apartment. I packed up the pets in carriers and went into the building's basement. I was the only one there.

Toilets. Strongest room in any facility is the toilet/bathroom. Get in, pack em down, and play "eye spy".

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Residential bathrooms are usually exterior. What you want is an interior room with no windows, probably a walk-in closet or maybe behind a kitchen bar in an open-design home.

crazy way to build a residence in tornado alley.

Crazy to build a home in tornado alley out of 2x4s and drywall with no basement but construction companies are cheapskates and good houses are expensive as fuck.
