Lights are finally back on in Pripyat (Chernobyl) after 31 years!

Let there be lights!

After 31 years, the lights in the former Soviet city of Pripyat, which is located in the former Soviet Republic of Ukraine (Now modern day Ukraine) has been given lights! Ever since the Chernobyl Nuclear power plant accident in 1986, around 50,000 Soviet people were forced to leave the city forever due to the radiation, they left everything behind... But now in 2017, a bunch of Polish adventurers decided to bring with them generators and spent time turning on the lights, surprisingly the lights still work, but plenty of the bulbs are somewhat damaged.

As pictured below, many of the lights around the city work. Even the old neon lights on top of the building work!

The old Ukrainian-Soviet school still has many relics from the time of the USSR, my mother went to a Soviet school, and it's cool to see pictures of stuff like this!

The lights work, but the rust that surrounds the lights show the age of these former lights.

The poles must of had a fun time setting up the lights.
