Middle school ELA teacher here. My kids come back Tuesday. Some hybrid, some 100% remote. I’ll be teaching on zoom AND in person at the same time. This is not my original work, but it made me take a few deep breaths and inspired me, so I thought I’d share. It’s going to be ok... the kids will be ok. I promise.

Make sure kids show up on time and 100% ready to start the day when online learning begins. And make sure they do the work that's assigned.

Make your child's education a priority. Don't badmouth the teacher on front of your kids. Buy them gift credits for TeachersPayTeachers.

Check in on your kid's mental health from time to time, and try to keep them to a routine (be up, dressed, teeth brushed). It helps.

Believe teachers are doing the best they can, read any communication they send (there's a lot, I know), check your student's grades 1/2
