The gif made me want to watch it again, a shame season 2 turned into so much of a 'monster of the week' thing and it was cancelled before many of the plot points were resolved just as I felt much of the cast found their stride.
It had the potential to be worth a few more seasons, but the second season wasn't great and they didn't have a good place to take it from there. I think it was a good decision to cancel it given what they did with the second season.
Really not though... If they had continued on in the vibe of season 1, then yeah, but season 2 fucked itself. Even then 9/11 and the mentality shift in the US is what ended in. Americans were much less keen on a near future America destroyed by terrorism after that
No. If anything they should have cancelled after the first season. Then the show would have been look back on fondly. I don't think they knew what to do with the second season. If Alba wasn't so freaking hot I would have stopped watching in the second season.
they kept buying good shows, playing them for a season, and if they were bad, then they dribbled away, but if they were excellent, well, then they get locked in the vault for the unforgivable sin of making their formula shows look bad, and then must be locked in the vault forever so that they never run AGAINST the furmulaic pap. They fould have a full 24 hours a day of fantastic shows so that they barely run the formula shows, but instead they just kill them, once or twice a year
The show "Dollhouse" seemed such an interesting concept: You have 'blank' people that can have memories installed into them to act like people from your past, give them skills, etc. Then when it was going to be cut they showed where it would have gone: Every day people can be reprogrammed from just listening to a signal. Civilization destroyed itself because anyone could be a sleeper agent and who you are can be wiped away in an instant.
I concur. Wanted it to be good, and there was a spark of something there with the bike messenger environment but it just couldn't hold my attention - it just lacked something and didn't quite gel.
The one I remember best is Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Lena Heady as Sarah Connor. And in my opinion the best treatment of John Connor, and showing him developing from the whiny kid of T2 towards someone who could lead.
This show was/is amazing! Recently did a re-watch (blurays on plex) that shit was better than a couple of the franchise movie sequels and holds up pretty well. The pool scene in season 1 and the house explosion scene in season 2 opener are as powerful today as they were back then. Stellar cast. Good stuff.
Since the first season was about the US descending into a dystopian police state following a major terrorist attack, the second season had to be rewritten last minute following 9/11 so they changed the show to be about mutants...
Funny cuz im finishing rewatching S03 of Star Trek Enterprise right now which had its own crazy post 9/11 rework... Aliens blew up Florida and things got pretty post 9/11ey and the captain got pretty Jack Bauerey with interrogating people in airlocks and stuff...
AfterTheRainComesTheRainbow
Loved the show and the setting, too bad it'll never get a reboot
Elliotblet
They canceled it too soon.

They canceled Firefly for this and I am still bitter
BastardMan1977
Firefly came out 6 months after Dark Angel was cancelled
NotThatPrivate
oh man, it was the other way around. Firefly replaced Dark Angel. My bad, sorry
Quebeker
Still remember that she had cat genes to enhance her agility… among other things…
NotThatPrivate
yeah, all I remember was an episode where she 'went into heat' and I sighed and quit watching
Evenmoreuselessname
Lol I think it was like... the second episode of the series, too 😆
Darkwell
And now, the writer's barely disguised fetish.

not familiar with this one

Dark Angel pilot episode. Don't worry, it isn't heading to a scene quite as dark as that gif makes it look.
drpain522
Been a long time since I saw the show

What's she doing these days?
Elliotblet
Being hot still, it's not fair.
IDontKnowWhatToDoAnymoreAndImTired
She quit Hollywood to start a company making baby products.
MarcUK
Isn't she and her business partner billionaires now? Either case she's made more money than she would from just doing films. xD
IDontCareAtAllButIShould
Look her up in IMDB.
PostMoThoin
And her net worth lol. Was half a billionaire at one point

No cause Bezos owns it. TMDB for now.

Even if it didnt show what is and isnt on my server, I use Plex for everything now its so much cleaner than IMDB. https://watch.plex.tv/person/jessica-alba

It really was. By far the best followup to T2, certainly.

Did you know that the co-stars dated even though she was 19 and he was 32?
ConsumingHate
Still over legal age, so what does it matter. As long as they both consented and there was no coercion or trickery.
IDontCareAtAllButIShould
The first season was relatively good the second went down hill from the start. The last episode left the show with nowhere to go.

They do this a lot in Star Trek. DS9 pretty much predicted how the US would react after 9/11.
