That would work on a gate, but not on a rigid setup like this. A lock chain has its place, however, this is not that place.

Example: unlock either lock from the top crossbar and the crossbar can be pulled out the opposite side, releasing the vertical pin.

if the center bar is rotated 90°, any lower lock will allow the bottom round bar to be freed.
