Pictures Before and After My Corrective Jaw Surgery (severe over-bite)
I had a hard time biting all the way through a sandwich, my jaws were that misaligned. Chewing was also a little uncomfortable, not to mention the terrible snoring/sleep apnea. It was bad enough to be classified as medically necessary, so my insurance covered it, after I met my $3500 out-of-pocket max. It was a huge battle to get coverage, but it finally got approved. I've noticed a big difference when I eat now and the snoring has stopped! Score! :) (Some jerk made fun of my chin years ago, but it stuck with me, and I was very self-conscious of my profile ever since. My mouth didn't even naturally close all the way, lips would remain very parted.)

My husband had this done. He can't give oral because his bottom teeth cut his tongue now.

Slight overbites are sexy. To be honest yours wasn't that bad but I'm happy for you if you're happy for you
ialwaystakeabananatoapartybananasaregood
I had the opposite of this. 12.5 hrs worth of surgery, but so worth it!
KindGenie
This made me happy. I grant you an up-vote!
KawaiiPotatoChan
Hair looks better too
InTheEndThoughItsJustInnuendo
Chin up, @OP. Things are looking better
mellowdrama
You look like you lost weight too. Pretty either way. Congrats!
bakapickle
very nice!
greatwhite67
It's called orthagnathic surgery. It means straight jaws.
TheLastSpaceman
Wtf this is a condition? I have this, i can never bite anything fully through! My tongue can fit through, while my jaws are locked in...fml
iamnotsmart
I also had a severe overbite, had a brace to pull my lower jaw forward
RussianChick2007
Were you pretty young when you had that brace?
spaceasaurusrex
First read it as corrective Jew surgery. Was mildly concerned that I missed a meeting at the tribe.

Bilateral sagital split osteotomy?
Tazmo523
Still a little more work to do

You were still cute when you were a chinlet but I'm glad you can eat sandwiches now

Read it as corrective Jew surgery...
UsernameAttempted
Jew should be ashamed for making that joke.
lastfoxstanding
I had that surgery!! It was for my lower jaws under bite. I now possess a straight bite, titanium gear, and a "defined" chin as a bonus.
lastfoxstanding
Good that you got it done OP! Stopped my headaches after the surgery. Hope you've some good side effects too that go with your good looks!
davefive
I have the same problem. Was it really worth it for the price ?
Therunningmatt
Had this done about two years ago for an underbite, couldn't be happier with the result.
runswithhops
Sweet now you can fold a towel!
HouseofWeiner
so you didnt have a chin before?

Noice
pennysmom1
You look great both before and after @op, I hope this helped you in all of the ways you were hoping for!
Unluky
Before surgery, could you bite a wall?
gotchasucka
Looks great.
C4NDY455
Looks like they got your nose too
LordChapstick
Is something like this purely cosmetic, or were there physical problems with it?

Jesus Christ
RussianChick2007
I tried to explain in the description, but, no, it wasn't purely cosmetic. Insurance wouldn't help at all, unless it's medically necessary.
Mylastusernameoffendedpeoplefeelingsmatter
i'm completely ignorant on this but whats wrong with the before? i see lots of people who have chins like that
RussianChick2007
I tried to explain in the description, but it was basically to address some health issues that I didn't want to deal with forever.
Mylastusernameoffendedpeoplefeelingsmatter
i see. well if its better good on you
TheMightyMoto
I see the difference on the top pics, but oddly I think the bottom left looks better the bottom right. Am I weird?
CheeseKaiser
black and white probably screws with the depth perception or something like that.
IBEWILD
My first thought too.
thatsALOTofnuts75
I too had a difficult time figuring what had happened
KingQball
Nah the imperfections make her feel more "human" to you I assume. I get the same thing. Or empathy kicks in cuase you got something off too
JustAnotherBrett
My guess is it's the hair
Stanzara
It's the hair. Probably
Skittleballs
I would think that's because it's not 3d. I think overall, it's a massive, massive improvement, and it makes me very happy for OP
oblivionator
Nope! I agree! Although she is still pretty either way and I hope that she feels great about how she looks :)
pennysmom1
Pretty in every picture tho!!
dannishadow
I think it's probably the smile. In the top pics, she's not smiling as much, so the problem is more pronounced. In the bottom pucs, her >
dannishadow
< (*pics) smile sort of hides the problem. Plus what someone else says, depth perception is screwy in the front pics.
BMelz14
It's the hair
pennysmom1
I thought the exact same
