Yeah, they definitely have hurdy gurdy, along with various other instruments. When I saw them live several of them were swapping instruments constantly from all of the extra ones they had laid out everywhere. That was in...2009 or 2010, I think.

As the other person noted, they're from Switzerland. Their music is about a culture that was destroyed by the Romans (Caesar, mostly, who committed genocide and pretended that the people he killed were evil and barbaric because being a war hero was a way to get political power).
I would love to see metal bands based on Native American and African cultures, though. That would be pretty awesome.

Ategnatos is pretty good; I haven't really listened to the others, though. I assume the Evocation II is more folk without the metal like Evocation I was, and I haven't gotten around to listening to the one that came out this year.
