Game's still the freaking best

I see they’ve studied the Prometheus school of avoiding a train

I'm still annoyed you can't suplex the train in the FF14 fight against this train.

Choo Choo motherfucker

1 week ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

All you had to do, was follow the train!

Uwaooo!!!

I will be forever disappointed that in FF14 the Monk can't Suplex Phantom Train or Doom Train.

My best friend and I stayed up all night in college playing this in one go. Still one of the most favorite nights I've ever had.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where the fuck is Shadow? Did you leave him behind?

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Of course not, but I did fuck around too long before going into the forest and he dipped out a couple encounters earlier. He does that a lot

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I still haven't beaten it yet, but im near the end game

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I hope it stands up to a new player first time through. It's hard for me to tell how much of my enjoyment is nostalgia

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just finished a first play through of the entire pixel remastered set, and 6 was definitely one of my favorites.

I don't like how wasteful the UI is on the remasters.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Currently replaying this. Just as good as I remember. I've watched an any % and a 100% speed run. Both were amazing, but I'm not playing it that way.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

in my day we had to memorize our blitzes

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was my day, too. But I'm not even mad at it. If there's a setting to turn that off, I'm not looking for it. I'm too old and busy to be bothered

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Suplexing that train is one of my best moments ever in gaming.
11 yo me: "There's no way this works, but this attack is so strong that I have to try"

I already thought those guys were beasts when they were outWALKING a speeding train. Then he suplexed it and blew my mind.

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Very tone deaf of Squenix to remove the suplex a train meme from their translation. Childhood memories right there.

FFVI is why I bothered learning to read. Also, you don't have Shadow with you, you heathen @OP?

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He bolted from the group a couple fights before I entered the forest

The art in the game and the official printed art are treasures

Fun fact. The One Ring from Lord of the Rings is an Artifact, meaning you can Suplex it out of existence. Turns out all the Fellowship really needed was motha fuckin Sabin.

Only bought one box of the cards, and this was in there. I may have squealed out loud.

1 week ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

I am slowly building a master set of it. The gold chocobo may take a lifetime but I am slowly building up the others

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Think of all the money you saved by buying only one box.

Maybe you should reward yourself by buying some cards.

Atma > Ultima

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You must ALWAYS suplex the train.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Number one complaint of this fight in Final Fantasy Online is you can't suplex the train. Someone will mention it EVERY time.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

why did they change the name from suplex to meteor strike? suplex is much better

1 week ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I'm more upset that there's an option now to avoid memorizing every blitz

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

i dunno, 2 or 3 of those are pure muscle memory, even now, 30 years later.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This. 100% I credit my poor entry to the fact I was playing left handed and holding a phone to film the bit. While mildly intoxicated

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that'll do it. Actually it's pretty well done considering those challenge conditions.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Original Japanese is Meteor Strike, original English Suplex is to minimize memory usage.

1 week ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

alright, i guess that is a fair reason

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Gonna be honest: I walked back and forth for a level waiting to get "Suplex" before realizing I already had it with the other name

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I am OK with changing names in theory, I remember one or two from the Tactics remake that I thought were improvements, but suplex was already great.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fuuuuck I have this and need to replay it

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

you should always replay FF6. At least once every two years. Sound track alone makes it worth it.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The FF6 soundtrack I think is the first time I bought bootlegs of an audio cd from Chinatown. Good times.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Suplex the train? Wait, why are there menus? You're supposed to learn the D-pad pattern!

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

2022 remaster, bay-bee! Actually, not sure if there's a setting to turn that off

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Pixel Remastered is the best version. And that's coming from someone who has played almost every other version of FF6(3)

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Of all the remakes I one day look forward to, this one apparently is not on the docket. Still one of my favorites of all time.

1 week ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 3

Definitely not a ground-up remake like FF7, but making it look and play like FF12 sounds really fun. Maybe even FF15, that one's a little better for "evil industrial nation" conflicts.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is no point in trying to improve upon perfection.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've always wanted to see this ayed out in a show.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Check out FF Pixel Remastered if you didn't already. a little pricey but the care in touching up all on the games, especially 5 and 6, is evident

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mostly liked the Pixel Remaster but they made some changes that were not great, minor but annoying. Like they changed the Empire's salute to the wave or when the troops are supposed to be torturing Celes in a cell now they are just saying mean things to her. The Opera scene felt like an improvement though.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My favorite of all time, too, and this game should not be remade. It is perfect as is. The pixel remaster is the most I'm willing to accept.

Not everything needs to be remade. Let new, unique ideas flourish and perfect history remain perfect history.

FF4 Advance on the GBA is how to redo a classic. The base game is almost completely unchanged but there is a huge amount of post-game content added. FF4 Pixel Remaster is a such a step backwards it's a disgrace.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

FF6 got an Advance treatment too. I liked it for what it was, but today I would emulate it with a few patches to make it look and sound more like the SNES original.

What game?

1 week ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

Final Fantasy VI (or 3 if you're an elderly American)

1 week ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I'd say I'm middle-aged but also planning on dying in a ditch any day now, so..... fair play i guess

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

3 only if you're trying to play on snes

I toast you, fellow old. Don't forget your ibuprofen today

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

As forementioned, Final Fantasy 6, Pixel Remastered. The best version of the game in my opinion. It's on all the major consoles and Steam. Literally one of the greatest games of all time. It's not a classic, it's a fucking masterpiece.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Better than Chrono Trigger?

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm not going to lie, Chrono Trigger Pixel Remaster sounds pretty good.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Let's not get carried away here

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My bad, but you start throwing around words like 'masterpiece' and I feel obligated to determine where it stands in the GOAT herd.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Mona Lisa and Starry Night are both masterpieces. Same with Chrono Trigger and FF6.
