I got my 8lb cat one and i can vouch that he sat on it 11 times and it broke. Can confirm it can hold ONLY UP TO 80 lbs. Cumulatively.

1) there s a difference between static and dynamic loads. A cat large jumping onto this is more than 80lbs of force. 2) that's Sch 40 PVC.

It's the extra force jumping onto it. Just replace the PCV pipe, but fill it with a thin iron rod for extra support

Heavier and it might not hold with suction cups in the window. It's a simple fix with pvc. For it to broke it was cheap plastic.
