University Attempted Suicide
worked on one the university campuses. in one of the blocs (not going to say which one, but its above a carpark Brisbane peeps holla) there is a bathroom over in the same area on every floor. Except one (no its not floor 13, that'd be cliche and retarded) according to the older guards that particular bathroom has been the site of many attempted student suicides, mainly slashed wrists. It got to the point that if a call to security came from that building, we'd also send a guy straight from the office with the larger first aid kit.
Sure enough I spent six months there and got to experience one of these cutting events. The student was a foreigner and when we received the call for emergency assistance during the middle of the day, the guy was on the ground outside the bathroom bleeding and all he kept saying was that it "all became too much". The guard that had worked there for 30 years says they all say damn near the same thing.
Brisbane, Australia people should know this place, New.
Okay, so this place is like premium haunted ground in Brisbane, its got lots of ghost tales and all over blown. We had the site sub-contracted to us. Its on a internal, so you go in to the creepy place, turn off the alarm, walk around to make sure it hasn't been magically ransacked and the alarm not activating. Did I mention there's a basement? because it sure as fuck has a creepy basement and because who ever wrote up the job has a sick sense of humour, you have to exit out of that basement and reset the alarm at the basement exit panel. Which is at the end of a flight of stairs in pitch blackness because God is dead in the land of Security.
Any who, one night I was on the run and doing the internal, after the first few nights of doing it the creepiness goes away and it becomes just a normal part of the job. As I was exiting via the stair case I noticed a shadow, that wasn't my shadow quickly whirling round in the most frantic manner because I thought I was about to get my head caved in I found nothing, but the shadow, the shadow was still there, went away with the light from my torch of course, shadow followed me all the way to the exit. Fuck that place.
We get payed extra to do this place.
Now this one is a weird one, because it seems to be a mixture of Security Guard laziness and superstition rolled into one. There's a building in the CBD thats meant to be haunted. All the guards that go there are meant to do a internal but never do, instead you're taught to go in, switch off the alarm, fuck around on the ground floor (never go up past floor 2). Switch on the alarm and say "Good night" to the alarm. Now if you do not say good night. You better believe that alarm is going to be going off ever 2 hours on different floors. Never go up to investigate, just go in, reset alarm, remember to wish the building a good night and leave.
One guard didn't though, this was told to me by the former Patrol Manager for Chubb Security. He went up to the 7th floor to investigate the alarm. Which was a cafeteria (? if memory serves me correctly) the Police responded to shots fired (bare in mind back until 2005 most patrol security in Australia carried guns and a few still do) in the building a few minutes after he'd radioed that he was going in to investigate. The report the Manager (now a Co-Worker of mine) received reported he believed he was being attacked by a assailant, the guy fired six shots into mostly the wall and swears there was someone there. Police scoured the place and couldn't find anyone.
Edit: Wow I didn't expect this to be so popular, this was my first post to Imgur, you guys are amazing.
SolarHedgie
I work security and nothing prepares you for the creeping horror.

If this isn't Dan from P block I'll eat my socks! No but seriously though I just finished my studies at QUT! I'm guessing it's S11 or Z7?

I have had a metric shit ton of weird supernatural things happen to me. If anyone wants to see my story post here let me know.
AlexStylin
It's a good assumption that if you have "weird supernatural shit" stories, people want to hear them.

These stories always sound like they're breathing in some nasty-ass mold that's making them delirious

How much effort is put into keeping unsuccessful college student suicides a secret? We've had successes here but zero reports of attempts.
bretheren
It's a private/confidential medical issue, of course it's not publicised. Individuals are referred to on-campus psychologists.
JVuillermin
Word to the motherfucker. I need part two. It gave me a Chubb

Why become a theist instead of being an agnostic atheist? Ghosts don't equal a god. There are plenty of atheists who believe in spirits.
TurdsOfWisdom
The mind is a powerful thing. It's not that what you saw didn't happen, but outside of your brain it doesn't exist if that makes sense
BrisketandBeans
We all know that's true of everything

I used to be an atheist but I have encounter so many things I can't explain over the years that I am now an agnostic theist.(1)

Real talk, has anyone tried just writing ELBERETH on the floor?

What would that do?

Ha, net hack reference.
OhCrapIDidntMeanToPickThisName
I used to work for a security company. We had hauntings so consistent, we could schedule patrols around them just for the sake of avoidance.
dragontail420
Post the stories please!!
CyranoDeBurlapSack
I also worked overnight security for 6 months for a mall. Creepy as hell but nothing ever materialized for me. Mostly noises
cheeseguy3412
I work in an area which 5 people have access to. Its an old facility, and the rooms are cavernous, walls are cement and steel, no windows /?
odinsbeardhammer
You, sir or ma'am, need to do some work stories.
cheeseguy3412
The door sticks too, which is fun in an otherwise sealed room. Only with the lights off though. weird shit stopped happening when I said 3/?
cheeseguy3412
When leaving late, locking up is always unsettling. Fans have leapt from tables, old equipment turns on and off without power applied etc /?
5SecondFuse
You consistently ignored consistent hauntings? Where consistent evidence of those hauntings could have been obtained?
TGWeaver
"Trust me, hauntings were so consistent and widely recognized you could set your watch by them. But yknow, never provide any kind of proof."
OhCrapIDidntMeanToPickThisName
No, we documented them for a while and handed it over to the church for "investigation." They had a exorcism there at one point.
dephress
Sounds legit.
NextineX
Bahaha a church? You claim to have consistent evidence of ghosts and you go to a fucking church?
OhCrapIDidntMeanToPickThisName
Wasn't my choice! Building was owned by a Christian college so lord knows what really went on there.
5SecondFuse
Any video footage perhaps?
OhCrapIDidntMeanToPickThisName
No good ones that I know of.
spudcosmic
You went to the church?! You could have gotten a research team and made a scientific discovery, or more likely disprove your haunting.
OhCrapIDidntMeanToPickThisName
THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I SAID! But no, we might "anger the spirits." It was at a Christian school so science/logic were never the answer.
SonicBoomYourFamily
Couldn't that just be what the drug dealers want though?

You don't understand man. You'd think that at first, but it wouldn't make any sense. So much why. So much fear.

I imagine you saying this with a thousand-yard stare and it is chilling.

Hello and goodbye, when arriving / leaving. Door never sticks anymore either. Seriously freaky area. 4/4
OhCrapIDidntMeanToPickThisName
We were issued bibles to ward off the weird shit ... they did not work.
Jameszombob
this has the potential to be a very nice story. thief, predictable guard schedule, easy score, ghostly twist.
OhCrapIDidntMeanToPickThisName
Dude! That's actually a good idea!
ParanoidWithGoodCause
sure, and then you have yet another ghost roaming around...
