Glad I could help.

Picture it: the guy pulls a handle, the dog drops to the ground, stands up for half a second before falling to the side. Then his tail starts wagging lazily. People around start cheering and clapping. You've been goobered.

Get em in the snow and he out preforms everyone in this video.

1 year ago | Likes 102 Dislikes 0

That's what I was wondering. Is it too hot for him to be parading here?

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Probably. Possibly a therapy dog, otherwise it's an odd choice for a police dog anywhere but Huskies are sometimes used as therapy dogs by police forces.
Malinois because all the other breeds need heroes too.

That's not a dog, that's a low-flying rain cloud. (why rain cloud you may ask? Wait till it finds a tree and you'll find out.. ;) )

What in God's name is a malamute useful for on a SWAT team? What earthly purpose is served?

I mean, if they ever call SWAT on me, send in a sled dog and I'll surrender on the spot. But I don't think I'm representative of the criminal populace.

Apparently there is some historical usage for search&rescue, along with personal protection. I guess a case could be made for them within the arctic circle if it's too cold for more traditionally used law enforcement dogs?
Frankly though I suspect that someone just wanted an excuse to bring their pet to work.

Maybe it's a trained corpse dog

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Oh woo hoo, he can play dead. How is that useful to them?

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They will send in a Jack Russell and come in for your corpse.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Jack Russells should really come with a pin that you pull out before you chuck them at whatever it is that you particularly don't like that day.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or better yet, a pin you can put in to turn that back off.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thank you for recognizing that as a Malamute. :)

But for real, ours would have been good at scaring people with her aggressive happiness and wolf-like size but otherwise?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would offer you the secret handshake of those who've been owned by a malamute, but unfortunately I'm just too covered in shed hair.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

common misconception: that dog is actually a notorious hardened criminal and is under arrest

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Pup is innocent on all crimes! Except maybe a noise complaint

You can be smart and lazy. They are not mutually exclusive.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He worked hard to be that lazy

I got a phone call from the police once that my dog(husky) was running around the neighborhood. He figured out how to unlock the back door! It had one of those dials you pish left or right and a handlebar door handle. We got a chain lock and a round handle after that.

When I was a kid I had a border collie who was so smart. Everyday she would go to my grandparents house while my parents were working and I was at school. It was a town over and she would cross streets and stuff, looking for cars before crossing. My dad chained her in our backyard for while we were away and she'd still find a way to escape. W/e he tried she'd find a way. We called her the Houdini dog. My grandparents had farms and she'd always arrive for the snack before noon, in the fields

I'm glad you knew where she went! Border collies are also crazy smart.
