If I put my 4wd truck in low range and lock the diffs it disables abs. Which means I definitely have four wheel stop. Wouldn't recommend it.

If you have ABS it's best to slam and let the vehicle sort it out. Pumps way faster and more accurately than a person does.

There's a strong notion that more driven wheels means more control. It almost only means less likely to get stuck. Tires give control.
