Apparently manners are bad now.
We were going through a door from opposite sides and I held it open for her to go through first. She said I shouldn't "push oppressive gender norms created by the patriachry" on her. My mom always taught me to treat women with respect and hold doors open for them etc. I don't care if people say chivalry is dead or sexist, I'm going to keep it up with these manners regardless of shit I might get.
LarissaPringiers
no problem with general doors. But I can't stand it if my BF holds open the car door for me. Like bitch, I can open my own door
GuitarMuscles
Why just women? I hold the door open for anyone, it's just polite
ProCheeseburger
yeah I usually hold the door for anyone if they are walking behind me.. I don't really give AF if its a woman..
LoNeSt4r
Tell her she's a stupid bitch. That's what you say to stupid guys, right?

OP is spouting bullshit that never happened.
BlueishGreenWeber
Have you ever thought it was your deliver on how you acted during it? Or what this person might be going through? Keep being nice OP

Cough, bullshit, cough

Whenever I hold the door open for someone and they act like dicks I release the door and keep walking, fuck em if it slams on their face.
thevortexmaster
Weird. I do this all the time and never get people being dicks. It's also held open for me all the time as well. I am Canadian though
sjukfan
I got told "You know I can open doors don't you?" when I held a door for a girl.
timberdoodle5
I work in a busy rail terminal and I hold doors for women all the time. Almost every woman has said thank you. This sounds bogus.
ipooppyramids
You smile, say yes ma'am and move on
BraveSirRobbin11
Chivalry IS dead and ratchets killed it.
bulbocavernosusreflex
Just treat everyone like shit and you'll never be disappointed you were nice to someone and they didn't appreciate it.

Maybe you should hold the door open for anyone you see near you as you're going in or out. You know, regardless of gender...

I hold doors open for lots of people,Guys, gals, old people, people with their hands full, or with baby carriages. It's polite.
SighAndUnZipsGuy
Male or female if we're both at the door and I'm closest I hold it open. It's called manners and this new age shit won't change that.
Belle9
There was a bench and my friends and I were sat after food shopping and we moved all our shopping (a lot) and 2 of us moved and offered 1/2
Belle9
The seat to an elderly lady, she gave us a dirty look and walked off... I expected that from a young teen not an elderly woman 0.o I feel ya

Pain OP
ReallyNiceSerialKiller
As a woman, I hold the door for people if they are close. No gender norms need to be added to polite behavior.
SchrodinergsSpy
I love holding the door for men. It makes them both uncomfortable but happy.
pagliacci323
It is douchey to be chivalrous towards someone cuz of their gender. I'm hoping you hold doors open for all people.
thevortexmaster
I open the door for everyone, not just women
thevortexmaster
If the OP doesn't reply to any comments I always assume it's fake
filiuspelei
Good point!
ShowMeYourButtonhole
It's called courtesy and it's gender agnostic.

Fake
chuckfranck
Hard to say. I've had a woman freak out about me saying "Thank you mam."
filiuspelei
I also am pretty damn sure its a repost from like a year ago.
Morehalo16
I held a door for a girl once but her and her friend accused me of just wanting to look at her butt. This might be real you never know.
Brasswhale
I believe that a hell of a lot easier than OP
dankyoovarymush
Well I hope you then purposely stared deeply at her butt to prove a point. Like nose to crack deep.
