My cat needs a new home in Florida.

This is Mylo. He's 6 years old this May.

The light deceives you--his eyes are actually a gorgeous green.

Anyway, I'll cut to the chase. Mylo is currently living with my mom in Florida and she and my family are moving to a nice new apartment come the end of April.

There are two problems: there's a non-refundable deposit for a cat to even live there and (here's the biggie) Mylo is very much an outdoor cat.

And Mylo needs a new family.

He starts curling his paws and his whole body the longer you pet him.

Mylo was born on a farm. We didn't let him for a while out for fear of losing him, but his incessant cries eventually convinced us. He disappeared for a week when he was 1 year old, but we got him back and he never got lost again.

He's a longcat. Sometimes he comes inside for a nap and pets, but not often.

Really, the biggest problem is that he spends 80% of his time outdoors. His food bowl is even outside and he has a box to sleep in that he likes (sometimes). He comes inside on a whim from time to time.

So now you know the background story.

I need help finding him a new home. My mom and that side of the family moved down to Clearwater, FL from Naperville, IL about a year ago. They don't know many people, and even if I reach out to my Facebook friends, the majority of them live near me.

Majestic lion.

Imgur, how do I find my kitty a good home? It tears me apart that when I visit in May, he won't be there.

Who do I ask? How do I get the word out? How can I be sure he has a good home? Will we be able to find someone in Florida who can handle our outdoor lion Mylo?
