yall member starting a boss and using knights of the round with mime on all your characters and then just going to school?

That's because LaD knows it's goofy as shit and is about having fun whenever it can, whereas FF has just been weeaboo soap opera since FF8.

This whole series is fantastic!

This game is a gift

Watch your back before it fades to black!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like how summoning the older characters basically just has their tattoos come to life like some kind of Stand user.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This was odly satisfying

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Got it in my queue, still playing Judgement

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never change japan, never change

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Much to learn

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I like this new Mortal Combat.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

the whole concept that Yakuza 7 is turn-based because the MC is such a dweeb that he imagines every fight like its Dragon Quest is amazing.

4 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 1

It's funny that it was originally supposed to be just like the other games in the series until an April Fool's joke about turn based combat

4 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

blew up, causing them to completely rework the game to be a JRPG, and it sold so well and that all main series games will be like it, going

4 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

forward, while the traditional Yakuza combat will be relegated to the Judgement games.

4 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Now we just need Takuya Kimura to ditch Johnny's so we can actually get the games on PC.... and sequels...

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

.....da fuck I just see?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wut

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Disappointed it wasn't the diaper babies. There's also this.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, Mr. Masochist.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not to be mistaken for the walking erection known as Mr. Libido.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I swear, the more I see about those games the more I wanna play them

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Get Like a Dragon or Yakuza 0. Can't recommend them enough. 0 is action/brawler combat, LaD is turn based JRPG. Both are incredible.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They go on sale on steam pretty often.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And most of them are pretty cheap for what you get, even when not on sale.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This was a hell of a game. I fucking loved how serious and hilarious it can be at the same time. . . But the grinding. God the grinding o.o

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now I see what Yahtzee meant!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why dubs goddammit

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love it

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the animation for when you get a strike at the bowling alley

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Meanwhile, one of the games in the series gives you a chicken, if you bowl a turkey.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

A chicken called Nugget. A chicken that can work in a real estate business.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And has some of the best stats for it.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is the game as fun as it is crazy?

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The Yakuza games in general are an almost absurdist blend of hard boiled gangster noir and bright shiny J-Pop madness. They're amazing.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

100%. Fun as hell, tons to do, entertaining combat, kick ass music, surprisingly excellent story/drama + absurd hilarious shit like this.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's great! There is a LOT of story though and it takes a long time before the game opens up and lets you run around.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm still stuck on Y0....

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yakuza 0 was so good.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

0 and Like a Dragon are the pinnacle for me. One action based in the 80s, one turn based current day. They're 2 of my fav games of all time.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can't tell if this is just a shitpost or if that's game footage.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's legit.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

that's real game footage but the whole game is kinda a big shitpost

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Actual game footage. That's not even the weirdest thing in this game.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Just wait until they see the trashbag men, or the lubed guys with lilos.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Rice is great if you're really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I used to. I still do, but I used to, too.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So, are we just going to ignore the fact that Roosters don't lay eggs?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Roosters also don't manage real estate, but I'm not telling him that.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

WTF did I just watch?

4 years ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 1

That's what I was thinking!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm waiting for the comic jokes about Abe from Japan. Also, warm rice with egg yolk mixed in is a common breakfast

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is by far one of the most normal things in Yakuza.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The yakuza games are a masterpiece of cinematography, you see.

4 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 1

A financial adviser giving a client an egg. What's so hard to understand?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Exactly what I was about to say

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yakuza series is so goddamn underrated. And Like a Dragon was pure gold from the start to the end.

4 years ago | Likes 228 Dislikes 2

And it should stay that way. If we all keep being quiet about most of it, more people can go in blind to these hundreds of wonderful hours.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Impulse buying Yakuza 0 has, without exaggeration, been one of my proudest decisions in my entire life. It was really, really worth 5 euros.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

YES IT IS. Yakuza 0 is amazing. Like a Dragon is a totally different style of gameplay (turn based) and is ALSO amazing. Absolute must play.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I have only played some of 4, are all of the games related to each other in a way? An overarching lore?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup, it's all one long chronological story, from 0 to 6 and then Like a Dragon (which is actually 7 in Japan).

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Like a dragon is Kind of a spin off. You can play it outside the Main story. You just wont know some characters for example

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm learning Japanese at the moment and I'm waiting to get Like a Dragon until I'm fluent enough to play without english subtitles.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like a dragon Was a masterpiece. Had so much fun with it

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agree

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well this is now 100% going on my list.

4 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Try Yakuza 0, it's older so it's a lot cheaper and it has a lot of the same insanity and intentional stylistic dissonance.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like every yakuza game, it has a super serious and intruuguing story, and it has lots of random moment that are spot on. Truly recomended

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Sounds like a great time for me. I'm all for something that'll make me cry and laugh hysterically at the same time.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

All of the Yakuza games are what you need, then. I think a lot of them are on Gamepass now. Most are street brawlers, 7 is a JRPG.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This game NAILS it. It actually got me teary multiple times, and I also laughed my ass off constantly. Game is fantastic.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As someone who loves the Yakuza games, be wary of Yakuza 7. Its a pretty meh JRPG that has some absurd difficulty spikes. Play 0 instead

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Two different games. 0 kinda spoils all other games (best combat system and spoiling events for other games in end credits)

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Got enthralled in the hobo simulator

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I think it became my favourite, though I did enjoy several of the others.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I bought this on sale but never played... is it really that good? What about if I haven't played any other yakuza games?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you haven't played other yakuza game you won't know few characters or some of the "summons" (like the chicken) รจ but you can enjoy it

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As it is a stand alone. One other game that is is the same universe but also stand alone is Judgment and Lost Judgment. Theese are great too

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I blew the series off for so long. I tried yakuza 0, and it has to be one of my fav games ever. just beat 2, gonna finish them all!

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Bear in mind that Like a Dragon is a different protagonist and play style. Absolutely AWESOME to play, though. It's its own thing. :)

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I've done yakuza 0-3, judgment, lost judgment and like a dragon. working my way through 4 now. RGG is turning into my favourite game studio.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Judgment and lost judgment are also great games. Hope they port all other yakuza spinoff too

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

... Are they all like this?

4 years ago | Likes 466 Dislikes 1

Summons? More or less. Games? 7 or Like a Dragon is styled as a JRPG while the rest are brawlers so just LAD

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, they are all levels of this kind of ridiculous. It's excellent.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Japanese? Yeah, pretty much

4 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

I just started Yakuza 0 and so far? A little bit, yes.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some are better

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the tamest one

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

In fact, the chicken is boring compared to most of your summons

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It should also be mentioned that the chicken is an employee at a candy store you take ownership of as the first business in your hedge fund

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Fo I need any sort of knowledge about the previous games to play Like A Dragon? When I found out it's turn based I became very interested .

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The story and cast are mostly new so you should be fine - you just might not appreciate references to past events and characters as much

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The summons? Mostly, yeah. The games? Like a Dragon is sillier overall, but all of them have weird silliness as sidequests.

4 years ago | Likes 88 Dislikes 0

I like to say yakuza has terrible pacing and that's what makes it good. From a dramatic moment to silly and over the top scenes like this

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

the main story of Yakuza is always usually really dramatic, heavy, and tragic, but all the sidestories are all out of left field and goofy

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Although Like a Dragon is the first one that's a JRPG.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

With an in-universe explanation as to why it plays like that, lol.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Only the best ones

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

God I hope they make another one... best Yakuza in years!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah there's one where you summon a yakuza captain wearing a diaper who likes to pretend he's a baby

4 years ago | Likes 303 Dislikes 0

I want to see that one as well.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I can't tell if I'm being fucked with in this thread.

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

no you are not, it is a absolute gem of a game and in keeping with standard yakuza humour

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cGKbcSS9Co Greased up bodybuilder with maces for hands first, yakuza diaper baby captain at 1:25

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I'm sorry I asked.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Or the greased up body builder with spiked Mace's for hands

4 years ago | Likes 114 Dislikes 1

that's Gary "Buster" Holmes. The greatest name in any video game ever.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

There's also Nancy....the crawfish.

4 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

there's also the Korean soap opera star who performs a heart warming scene to debuff your enemies

4 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 0

Or the elementary school girl that guilt trips all your enemies into giving you money.
