My father used to fly for a Navy squadron called the Hurricane Hunters. He had some wild stories before NOAA flights began. They flew P-3s

More than likely a hurricane hunter out of Keesler AFB flying a C-130 into the hurricane

USAF uses C-130s to do it, NOAA uses P-3 Orions and a Gulfstream IV. So it can be from either. They do work together, after all.
