My 14 year old still holds my hand when we’re outside, to cross streets and when they get nervous (crowds, noise, new places…). I love it and love that I can help make him feel safe.

My son is 18. He will still sit on the couch and cuddle with me. And, he isn't ashamed to hug me or say he lives me in front of his friends. I'm a lucky dad.

#23 I think about this too. It would be so amazing. A young cashier at one of my customers was talking about how much he loves Nintendo stuff but can't afford it. I recently found a Gameboy Advance at an eWaste centre while I was getting rid of some electronics. I love tinkering with things so I pocketed it. I got it working, retrobrited the case to get it white again, and gave it to him. It was a pretty small thing but it made his day. I feel like I really want to keep doing stuff like that.

#14 Reminds me of a day we took our kids to the zoo. Sister brought her kids with my mom. After, we went to my mom's and the kids played in the pool. Youngest had fallen asleep along the way, woke up to play in the water, then fell asleep on our way home. We stopped at a store where she woke up again, and her older siblings convinced her she dreamed up playing in the water. We finally got home and she saw my wife's computer and my mom has posted pool pictures. She screamed "I knew it was real!"

#23 11 years ago I was struggeling. I was a single mom with no job, two kids under 3 and a big dog. But this one woman still picked me to rent her apartment to. I will be forever grateful. If I ever will be in the situation to have a lot of money, I want to buy or built a nice big house with a few apartments and rent it for little money to single parents struggeling to find a home.

#23 This is why you'll never be rich. You have to be unethical to be rich. My wife dreams of having enough money to pay random people's water bills. Like, she realized you only need the street address to pay the water bill, and she wants to be able to give a random street address and pay the bill. She isn't being altruistic. She thinks it would be a funny prank. Like, "ha ha! You went to pay your bill and it was already paid this month! Nerd!"

#23 I asked my neighbors on Next Door if anyone had any leftover size 3 or really stretch 2 diapers their babies had outgrown because my friend that had escaped a DV situation with his little baby was running out and his 10hrs a week job at fast food meant he lost his government assistance to help buy things like that (even though his monthly checks are less than his rent) and so we’d gladly take their leftovers and one woman BOUGHT US a box of diapers and another sent me a $200 gift certificate

to Walmart???? When she offered I told her that someone had already bought us a box and she said, “Well he’ll need more supplies than diapers or just buy more!” So I was expecting like $40 maybe. The rich people in my city can be very very kind and I’m so beyond grateful for their generosity towards my pseudo grandbaby. Like to some people $200 or a $30 box of diapers is nothing but to us it’s everything.
