Pi3 in a Nes cart with a fan, led, on/off switch and, reset.

First off, remove everything you can inside the case with a Dremel. The Rear cover is made from a aluminum strip found in misc. nuts and bolts drawer at Lowes. 6" x 1/2" was the perfect height. For the ovals, I drilled holes in a line and then dremeled in between. For the USB/switch, I cut straight down and then bent back and forth. I held where I wanted it to break with pliers. Use a file to clean up all your work.

HDMI adapter and USB adapter were on Amazon. The USB adapter was a splitter. I cut off the other lead, it will still work. Micro rocker switch, led, fan, micro momentary and wires were all at micro center. The on/off circuit board was found at mausberry circuits. All connections were soldered. Use pennies made before 1982. A drop of super glue was placed in between all 5.

Cut the double stack USBs with a band saw or hack saw. As long as the prongs don't touch each other, you're good to go. The Lower USBs will still work! Pry off Ethernet with screw driver. This was the most nerve racking part of the whole job. I didn't desolder anything. I tried the whole job on a pi2 first.

Here is the PI plugged in. A thicker hdmi probably wouldn't fit in between the housing.

The fan is held down from pressure of the lid. The studs were also found by the nuts and bolts at Lowes. I had to shave them to fit into the fan. I did all this to have quick access to the SD card. I also cut one section of the shroud to push air directly onto the board. This did nothing. My max processor temp so far is 131F.

For the inlet holes. I once again drilled holes in a line, dremeled, and then clean up my work with a file. I did this all by hand and it was my favorite part of the project. Far right is outlet holes. Stick on drawer stoppers for feet. These were found at Lowes.

Led is a super blue (or red). I followed eta prime on YouTube for wiring. Instead of a 12v led, i used a 5v and a 330ohm resistor. For that I followed howchoo.

This was my second pi build. The first was a zero and I just wasn't satisfied. It completely engulfed a month of my life and I'm sad it's over. As for the software it's pretty snazzy as well. Kodi (not in ports), background 8bit music, and obviously retropie. I never review, blog, or even comment. I just figured I'd pay it forward with all the knowledge Ive learned on the net and Reddit.
