I mean, there are definitely diagnoses that have like a 90% overlap with what is generally considered to be "evil", although, of course, clinical language strongly avoids using that specific term.
Of course, the worst evils think nothing is wrong with them and don't voluntarily seek psychological help. If anything, they think these traits actually make them better than others.

Mhmm. If you are referring to the "dark triad" I think that's as close to calling something "evil" as a scientist will get.
The tricky bit is that there is no one single value that is universally shared, and we can't define what values are the "correct" ones and which perspectives are the right ones to measure good vs. evil.
I mean, 30% of America adores the man who exemplifies the dark triad traits.

Im a modern psychologist, over the past 5 years ive given my patients both the tools and the terminology necessary to validate and justify their shitty behavior while producing an illusion of insight. Not one of them have actually improved in an quantifiable way. The alternative is they would never return, and id be unable to pay my mortgage.

smile is absolutely one of the best horror movies ever (imo), 100000% recommend. it's the only time in my life where the hairs on the back of my neck stood up! i never knew that was actually real until this movie! for honest to goodness, reeeeal scariness, this is a great movie. and the sequel was also fantastic!
