I still love flying, but I realized I don't want to do it as a career, at least not at this point in my life...
I'll be moving to Chicago in May and I'll need friends... also anyone know any safe/decently priced areas to live?

Schaumburg, Palatine, Roselle are nice suburbs. To be closer to the city then Lincoln Park, Tinley Park, & Wicker Park are also nice.

That sounds awesome, at least you have insight into what a pilot needs or may prefer in an Airport.

The suburbs. Specifically the Park's. Tinley was the Safest Place to Raise your kids, but that as years ago and it's ~1 hr from Chicago

I can be your friend. I don't live in Chicago though, or the US, or in America.. Hm.

As for safe/decently priced areas...anywhere but Chicago probably
MexicanTacoGuy
Chicago!!! There's some decent taco places.

As a person from Chicago, can confirm.

So airports can be designed by people without a degree.

Nah I graduate in May and start in June

Schaumburg, Elgin, and Gurnee are pretty nice and seem safe. Not sure about pricing though, I've only been up to visit friends in Gurnee.
MexicanTacoGuy
Gurnee is nice and close to some good taco places.

I vote for a giant slingshot that throws the planes in the air.

sailorpoonn
airside, so like the runways and airspace!
Supernova86
Designing the airspace, huh? Sounds fun
sailorpoonn
I think it's neat!
Supernova86
I'm curious as to how or what you design out of space
sailorpoonn
think about it like protective airspace for aircraft
