I know everyone is freaking out over Fallout 4, but... I think this is cool too.

I know that minecraft is seemingly shunned, but I thought this was pretty awesome. I don't know about you, but I am excited!

I just think that it will be horrible

But how? HOW?

It's a hell of a display piece, at least. I wonder what the actual product will look like.

IMAGINE PLAYING CIVILIZATION ON THAT

Not a fan of mincraft, but I would try it like this for sure.

Knowing Microsoft this is going to be epic but awkward to use and a bit too nerdy for most. Then Apple will rehash it and get rich off it.

I can see them using creative license on the "Holo-Band" from Caprica.

This is cool but I was hoping you were able to build with it.

You can, the presentation has him playing first person with the image rendered on a wall. The 3d thing is like a zoomed out version of F5.

But you can you pick up blocks while in that zoomed out mode?

As someone who does software development - don't set your hopes too high. The demo is intentionally made to look way ahead of its time.

Yeah, I agree. However, I think that this is an amazing step in the right direction.

FINALLY! My dream of playing a gigant and peeking into buildings can come true!

Can I destroy this stuff Godzilla style?

Focus your eyes on something and call down lightning bolts. I would say similar. ;)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But can you get Dogmeat?

My biggest problem with the presentation was the lack of enthusiasm from both speakers.

I didn't even notice. I was just freaking out on how awesome this is.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

if this is even half as good as they say, it'll be awesome.

yeah... the Kinect looked awesome when it was still "Project Natal". That didn't turn out so well.

Yeah, agreed!

Is there some sort of online D&D thing? I want to learn and to play with crazy Imgurians.

roll20.net is a great place to start.

Wonderful, if you have enough Hololens devices linked together for every player.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The camera has a specialized lens on it to see the holoprojection. You can't see it without the lens device.

Or hook one Hololens up to a TV to display what the DM (who wears the Hololens on and off as needed) sees, like video is doing.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Possibly. You'd still need two lenses. One for the DM to control and see private information (enemy hp, location, etc) and one for display.

Set Hololens on a table w/its line of sight on display. When DM needs to show something specific, he puts it on and walks around the display
