Made the skeleton for the base and test fit in the space where the existing was, not too shabby.
Tongue and groove doors
Still a door.
Drawer and soft close drawer slides installed. Door too
Soft close hinges installed on the door with wood filler where Brad nails were placed
Base made. Planning to prime and paint black, then install a concrete top which I will also make. Let me know if you guys have any tips!

dont do concrete. real stone is surprisingly cheap and looks soooooo much better. concrete= " oh thats neat" stone=wow

so many options out there besides boring granite too, , use marble or onyx or quartzite or something to match such a nice cabinet

im telling you its a LOT cheaper than you think, you can get a large 76"x36" vanity top that already has the finished edges for like $300

get a guy to cut the stone, or just buy a diamond blade and do it yourself thats what they do, 4 inch angle grinder, diamond blade,

getting a island done, is gonna cost you a little more, unless they have premade ones, but a slab is like a grand, then you gotta get it
