Dude, I love Con people. There's this guy who comes to our local con every year to sell his plays— they're monster themed, and really well written with clever premises— and every year I visit for a new script and promise that I'll continue trying to get him a West Coast premiere of his play "The Trial of Frankenstein's Monster". The guy travels all the way from the East Coast to try and sell these, at 60!
Wife has sold at some and talking to the vendors a lot of the times you're just giving stuff away to the other vendors and making booth neighbors. It's a fun time when they're held properly.
Just found out about Sophia right now and she honestly embodies the best of humanity. Hope she stays that genuine and excited about what she loves and runs into more people like the dudes at that stand and those in the chat. Thanks for posting @op
Seriously how fucking smart is Nintendo? They started off as a playing/trading card company. Saw a wide open lane for vidya games, then took one of their most successful franchises and steered right back into printing trading cards.
Wide open lane because everyone who'd come before them was watching as the market drove off a cliff, lol. They launched the NES immediately after the great video game crash of the late 70s, and it very much could have gone the other way!
Right back to their roots! Almost, but legally not quite, putting ladies in suggestive poses on the cards again too! I wonder if there are any Pokémon "hotels" you can book into for a night...
