I mean...a lesson (not a good one) you could take away from Gatsby is the rich and powerful (Gatsby was only rich) are unconscionable and that they can and will get away with murder. You could take a lessons that retreating into your wealth and privilege allows you to do whatever you want and be free from consequences like Tom and Daisy.
