I was very sure to vote today, in case it's the last time I ever get to do so again as a free American. Yes, it's that's serious.

Oof. I actually had the leisure of choosing whether I wanted to be a passenger for a 5 minute drive to vote early, or wait until the last day and merely walk across the street. A bike ride 10 miles?! I barely did 10 miles on a bike 10 years ago, and I'm even more out of shape now (despite being only 27)!

This seems like a really long way to find a polling station. I'm in Canada, polling stations are everywhere. Mine is on the common room of my apartment. I voted in my pajamas last time in less than 2 minutes.

Yup. In my state they are trying to make a constitutional amendment (on ballet) to change the wording specifically to exclude non-us citizens. But it already says that you must be a us citizen to vote, so I don’t see the redundancy? So odd. Mine was simple. In and out from start to finish was <10 mins.

"Non-us citizens" sounds like coded language for naturalized citizens. People that legally entered our country and jumped through our hoops to become full citizens are apparently not as good in their eyes as people whose moms just happened to get knocked up in between the lines that define this country.

To be honest, I made this longer than it had to be, taking the kids to the bike park so they could play, then riding from there to my precinct. Worth it. Plus, i saw a snake on the trail, so bonus day!

There is nothing better than a family day on bikes. The youngest is 14 now, so he outrides me at every opportunity (I can still ride longer, thank you fat reserves!).

I'll have to rely on my endurance at some point too, but for now I'm safe! Just picked up a used Priority Turi for my girlfriend this past Saturday. She only had a single speed cruiser with no brakes so she needed an upgrade. She's taken one ride and loves it already! In other words, I'm planning ahead & getting the pieces in place for long family rides! Hopefully this coming spring!
