Good People are everywhere

This was the entrance to our neighborhood after Irma. Three houses were flooded.

Our cross the street neighbor let us cut a path through his trees to the back streets (you can see the mailboxes right between the trees). We had a couple emergency personnel that needed to report to work so this was our first attempt at traction.

Eventually the Mellenials took over and rounded up plywood from some windows

The first try with a non-4 wheel drive car didn't go so well.

Eventually we made it safe enough for a Tesla to cross. The boards lasted two days despite pretty heavy use once people had to go back to work on Tuesday.

Today the County filled in the road with sand. Shout out to our neighbor who has been generous and said the way we can pay him back is by helping him clear out some of the debris behind his house. Notice the 5 crew members, well there were 5 more in a truck , it took a 10 man team it took to lay down sand while there are still 5 other neighborhoods that need to be pumped out.
