One face of roughly the 1.5 million children murdered during the Holocaust. I am putting this face up due to the fact that one Holocaust denier I met refused to see photos of victims.
They are only comfortable for so long as the Victims are faceless, practically nonexistent in their minds. Showing them the faces of the most vulnerable is their biggest fear towards facing reality.
I have refused the more graphic images. Because that too "Does not look real" to them.
This child was photographed after to the Rape of Nanking massacre. This one survivor lost a arm. There child rape survivors as well. Images are extremely rare of the victims prior to the event.
Speaking of deniers, I found a similar person on YouTuber from Japan some years ago. He denied countless archived research from several countries. The mass murder of the likely 6-10 million of Chinese Nationals; 2.3 million children were estimated to have been among the victims in the conservative numbers. He immediately refused all communication once I presented him the option of viewing the image of the Japanese bayoneting infants and parading the corpses.
They will always be loud, angry, self righteous in their stupidity, but all are consistently cowards.

A mere unsourced picture won't do it. Anyone could slap a label on a black and white picture of a kid, you would need corroborating data if you were serious about proving to a skeptic.

Unfortunately, they don’t teach about the rape of Nanking or other atrocities committed by Japanese troops in Japanese schools. I taught my own children, so they noticed that it was missing from the conversation and brought it up in school, the teachers weren’t too happy but the other students learned something important that day. Proud father.

Some descendants are perpetrating this, but from my understanding, much of the thinking here is more from the Jewish Legion Brigade descendants... The ones who committed war crimes on the side of the allies during WWII until they got forcefully pulled out due to that fact

The genocide of the Uyghurs is less like what the Nazis did to the Jews and more like what Russia did to the the Tatars. There is mass murder but the majority of it and the goal is to eliminate all practicing of their religion and culture, disenfranchise the people, and break up their communities and sterilize the rest. The goal isn't to eliminate them, the goal is to make them "Chinese" in the eyes of the CCP. It's just as bad as "traditional" genocide but is much more palatable to the world.

It's very alarming that whether something is genocide, for most people, tends to hinge on politics. I include a lot of groups in this gripe: the (actually fairly rare) holocaust-denying hardline anti-zionists, Marxist-Leninists other hardline leftists who give China a pass because they agree with the PRC, and large groups of the population in Turkey and Japan, who deny recent genocides (for which they have no direct culpability) simply because...national pride.

Oh yeah teaching history in France in a city with a large turkish community, every single year I have to put up with kids who were told by their parents that the Armenian genocide is not real.
In France genocide negationism is excluded from freedom of speech so it's a punishable offense by law, but it's not the kids fault. Instead of punishing them it's always a good occasion to highlight the importance of sources and their credibility.

Exactly, Chinese are patient and they have made calculations that world tolerates the extermination if it is done slowly, in decades. They also aren't straight out murdering them by splattering the people in their home walls.

And we (the US) like to think that the war started in December 1942. The Japanese invaded China in 1931. And they did this shit for a full TEN YEARS before we even cared enough to take action.

Aktually the Japanese moved into China in the early 1900s, taking Taiwan and Korea, and also taking the Southern Manchuria RR from the Russians in 1905.
Things came to a head in 1931 when the Japanese took over all of Manchuria, and the US refused to recognize this state of affairs. Japan's murderous actions 1937 - 1940 presented cascading outrages which forced the US to start economically punishing Japan with embargoes, culminating in the oil embargo after Japan seized (French) Indochina.

Even then in Dec 1941, we did not care enough to stop Japan being Nazis in China. We only cared because Japan attacked our navy. That eventually led to 2 atom bombs being dropped on Japanese civilians, killing hundreds of thousands.

Yeah, it's not like anyone in this enlightened modern world would look at the faces of starving, mutilated or murdered Palestinian children and dismiss them as propaganda. Or simply don't care about them, or even approve of their genocide.
