When considered an illegal by ICE you have no due process rights or rights to speak to an attorney at time of arrest. So what do you do? Carry your passport and carefully study and memorizing every line. If they say its fake describe the watermark, it cannot be forged.
This won’t help you. Not even a little bit. A gun might help you a bit more because the end result will likely be better if you didn’t have a gun. In case you are failing to understand, you can die fighting or you can die enslaved, raped, tortured or worse. Ice isn’t at your door to politely confirm you are a citizen. They are there to ruin your life and introduce you to what Hell is like. At least with a gun, you can send them there expedited shipping.
All well and good, but what do you say when an ICE agent grabs you by your neck and gets you out of your home/car by force, then pushes you on the floor and strangles you with a knee on your neck? (I mean, other than "oof", "ouch", "gargle" and "herrrp!")
Sure, and this is great if you get one that actually intends to follow the law. Otherwise, you're better off not letting them take you to a second location.
What other fantasy scenarios have you come up with. Maybe you can palm heel strike one in the nose killing him, then swiftly turn unsheathing your katana and when you sheath it the other 3 guys with automatic weapons bodies slowly slide into pieces
This is good advice against law enforcement officers. ICE however are government-sponsored Terror Squads that don't give a shit about laws or your rights, and are untouchable by courts.
If government/law-enforcement personnel attempt to illegally restrain, detain, search, abduct, or assault a civilian, or attempt to illegally seize or damage a civilian's belongings/property, or attempt to illegally enter private property, etc., what legal rights do civilians have to stop the violation/crime in the moment it's occurring?
Unfortunately there are situations where two wrongs do make a right. This is one of them, your right to defend yourself from an assailant that does not care about the law.
Sadly, this only works with law enforcement that obey the laws. ICE will violate any of these that they want, beat or shoot you for not complying fast enough, and then Republican officials will go on TV to say you deserved it.
Even if it doesn't avoid an arrest - or indeed, save your life - not asserting your rights can be construed as waiving your rights -- EG if you break under interrogation without ever asking for a lawyer. If you ask even once, anything that happens under questioning before you see a lawyer could get thrown out.
They're still useful protective measures. Just think of it as a woman carrying pepper spray. It's not a magic bullet, but it's still advisable.
I was totally reading #2 and expecting it to go further. "If ice enters your home without permission say 'I don't consent to you being in my home'"... "If ICE shoots you in the face, say 'I don't give you permission to shoot me in the face.'" By the time they start breaking the law, there's no point in telling them you don't permit them to do that.
If ICE enters my home without a warrant, we’re having a party, because my 2nd amendment will have broken some ice! (Sorry I won’t be alive there, but have some drinks in me)
The problem is that ICE doesnt follow the laws and ICE leadership defends their ability to break the laws. This is good advice but might not be helpful.
You can also hit them with bear spray. 30 yard range, can get it on Amazon. Masks covering their mouth doesn't protect their eyes. Can't chase you or arrest you and a single person can take down an entire squad in moments.
It isn't about avoiding arrest, it's avoiding giving them a case that can survive a court challenge. Bad things can still happen, but this is still good advice.
No. This is good advice with Law Enforcement Officers. ICE are government-sponsored Terror Squads that don't give a shit about laws or rights, and are untouchable by courts.
But if you don't follow the advice, you may legitimize your detention, and either immunize them, or incriminate yourself, even if you haven't done anything. Don't hand out freebies.
Me and a lot of my fellow Kiwis are not only avoiding USA like the plague (even for transit), we're boycotting American goods at the supermarkets, and letting our supermarkets know not to bother importing those items anymore.

Sounds nice, but reality is going to set in and it's going to be ugly !

If you run into ICE on the street, back up and do it again!
McFrazzlestache
You CAN park there.

#1 leaves out an important first step ... start recording and/or going live on social media.

If ICE come to your work place, this is especially relevant. Give them no service.
OdinYggd
This. You politely but sternly tell them to leave, and refuse to give them service or have any other interactions.

Running into ICE at my home... it's going to be on the news, cause someone's going to the hospital...
Mikataki
I have an even simpler one-step guide for running into ICE on the street: Shoot them.

Make sure you remember the special flow chart of how to talk to ICE and you *might* not get shot.

"If ICE violates your rights, say "I do not consent to my rights being violated" then let them continue to violate your rights."
This is why we need a change of laws to allow self-defense.

I do not blame you . We need all the pressure possible from the world to straighten this mess out. Our leaders should have done it, but here we are.
