Cats being stuck in trees are myths. They'll eventually jump down of their own volition.

Sometimes they do need help. Lived in San Diego on the edge of a canyon. Neighbors cat got into a palm tree that was hanging over the hwy.

This is true. However, his third night up there was going to consist of harsh wind and freezing rain. We decided we had to get him down.

True, however as I said to someone else, his third night was going to be windy with freezing rain. I couldn't leave him there.
