Shitty platform, but awesome misunderstanding.

maybe pay attention to the road instead of filming content

I'm glad everyone is saying this. Its a big problem in general and I would care even if it hadn't caused me any problems personally. But I got hit pretty hard when I came to a stop at a traffic jam on the interstate and the guy behind me was on his phone (I could see him not slowing down in the rearview) and he smashed into me. Totaled my car, injured my neck, and left me with bruises all over my chest and face. I'm very glad my kids weren't in the car with me.

This genuinely makes me happy.

That Weird Al's genius is being mocked and degraded and identified as ai slop?

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Do not hold your phone and film yourself while driving.

2 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Dad, you aren't doing your job if your kids don't know Weird Al. Mine do! Raise 'em right!

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Dude, pull over and do the skit - please don't drive this distracted.

2 months ago | Likes 154 Dislikes 2

And with your kids... Teaching them bad behavior in traffic is a potential death sentence.

2 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Jokes on you. If she doesn't know Weird Al that's on you.

2 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

The guy records videos in his car on his phone while driving with his kid. You know he's uncultured.

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

FUCK SPOTIFY

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The kid knows, the dad knows the kid knows and thinks it's funny that she thinks she is pulling one over on him.

There's a discord server called "Al HUB" that was meant to be a hub for Weird Al and other parody songs, and a few years ago the guy who made the server rage quit because people thought it was for A.I. and since a lot of A.I. use is making parody songs, he tolerated it as being in the spirit of of Weird Al, but that ended up with it being basically 99.9% discussion of AI voice replacement on songs.

Something something Nazi bar.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That is an apt, if loaded comparison.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Y'all one of my earliest memories was my parents taking me to a music store and they got a weird Al cassette. We sat in the parking lot losing our shit to "lasagna". What a legend.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Painful.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love AL. Grew up listening to him. I like his covers more than I do many of the originals.

Been a diehard Spotify user for 18 years. Closed beta and all. Finally cancelled. Price hike after price hike and the only new features they've given are AI related along with sneaking in AI generated songs. Was a good run.

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I used to pay for premium because I could have the songs downloaded while I was on the London Underground.

But then they hosted the Joe Rogan podcast during Covid, when he was a key antivaxxer. Dropped them.

This makes me chuckle and makes me feel old.

The movie Willow came out in 1988.... Se7en came out in 1995

This kills me. Every time someone on our discord server discovers Weird Al, I get to tell them that I met him and shook his hand during the Mandatory Fun tour. Still have the stuff he signed for me, including a card of the character he voiced for My Little Pony

I got to meet Weird Al as a kid at Disneyland. He was in the line for the Peter Pan ride a few groups ahead of us, so we happened to be next to him a few times while it wound around.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds sus, how can you meet an AI?

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Generally if someone else or the Weird Al itself introduces you

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wife and I are going to see him in august.

2 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Saw his show and met him in Kalamazoo last September. I've been listening to him since Eat It came out when I was in 5th grade. Incredible talent!

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Was a PA for Entertainment Now, got to meet him at House Of Lords in T.O. for Bad Hair Day, git him to sign a CD... it's in the basement somewhere.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He does a great show.

2 months ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

I saw him open for the Monkees (sans Mike) in Merrillville, Indiana circa 1988.

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Merrillville sucks but they did have that Celebration Station

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They also had a western wear store near the mall where I got the cool, black duster I wore for ages with a bent up Amish hat (still have both).
Before they lost the mall to Hobart, Merrillville didn't have a city council. They had a chamber of commerce. Now it's just one big traffic snarl.
The houses there are substandard, built for white flight from Gary. People left good, solidly built homes to buy substandard Brady Bunch clones because a black family moved a block away from them.

Yep that's NWI in a nutshell

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I went to the signing for Poodle Hat as a kid, I remember the line was bullshit

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I paid for VIP tickets, and the meet and greet was a part of the package. We had a very long line, and I was at the back of it... Right up until they told us that Al was ready and the entire line had to turn around. So the back of the line became the front and I went from being 30th or something in line to being 8th

Educate your children. They should not be learning about weird al from friends. They should hear it from you.

Needs a long driving ban …

I saw a reel where this 20 something had a great idea and she was so proud. She said “what if, hear me out, what if we put a phone in our house that has a single phone number anyone could call to speak with anyone at that house !”

"and then when it rings, we all have a mild panic attack"

I saw a 10-something talking about her idea called "personalized pronouns," so that anyone can have one that is specific and unique to themselves.

I still remember going to Weird A.I. in concert. I don't do a lot of concerts; don't like crowds or super loud noises...but that was a BLAST and a half to go to. Had a great time. Great performance, great music. Even more impressive when you think about how long Weird A.I. has been around!

2 months ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

He’s still touring! I took my son to see him last summer, and we had a great time

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I saw he's coming to Duluth soon. A bit out of my patch, but I won't say I'm not tempted, hehe.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ve seen him 3 times in the past 7 years, and still puts on an incredible show. Changes up the setlist for each tour and still pulls out the costumes. One of those tours he hired a local orchestra for each show. Hard to believe I first saw him in ‘95

It bugs me that dad is normalizing driving with a cell phone in his hand, paying attention to things other than driving. Please don’t teach your kids this is ok.

2 months ago | Likes 367 Dislikes 12

Came down here to say this

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I used to cycle commute and now ride around town regularly. Way to many people are using their phones while driving.

2 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

It is also against the law in many places

2 months ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

Even if it's not possible to be holding a cell phone because you don't have a hand!

Seriously, about a week after that I heard the morning radio show had some dirt on her for some reason....I didn't hear it as I got out of the car.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That is by far the least bad thing about that.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lots of things are, but you wouldn't know it from looking at the average American driver.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

so is speeding but couldn't tell from my trips on the road.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Is this even enforced anymore?

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Does it need to be?

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Yes, dingus

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So there is always someone enforcing you to put on clothes?
To drive on the road and not the side walk?
Is there someone enforcing you to speak a certain language?
How many people have you murdered when there was no one enforcing you not too.

No dingus, Rules and Laws work when people apply selfcontrole and abide by Rules. No outside force required. You enforce yourself.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Calm down, they're both wearing seatbelts and they're in a big SUV that'll do more damage to anyone they hit than to themselves. So they're perfectly safe. /s

2 months ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 6

He me in the first half

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Got me before that /s. My panties were -||- close to getting bunched.

2 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Lighten up, Francis

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 11

When your kid kills someone and goes to jail for it or gets killed by a distracted driver, I'll tell you to lighten up.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Wow, you are such a negative person.
Maybe you should, lighten up, Francis.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Maybe you should fuck off and get hit by a distracted driver.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Maybe you should blow me.
Get a life.
Then, blow me, again.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

The car is parked, it isn't moving.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 18

Of so the streets and trees are just moving around them?

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

What? You are looking at a different video there.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No. I just spoke too soon, they start driving shortly into the video.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Almost said the same thing, then I figured I should jump forward to check before commenting. Lol. Never hit submit without fact checking.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is still normalizing recording in your car.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

That by itself is not a problem

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

If your comfortable with filming yourself in the driver seat while parked and prepared to move, you will eventually feel comfortable enough to pull the phone out and record at a light, then in stopped traffic, then eventually while slow driving, then while driving at speed. That's how it started with texting.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

In the beginning but they do get on the road later in the video.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ah yeah, I went into the comments too early lol

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1
