Big Pine Lakes

At the Pig Pine Creek Campgrounds. Yes there’s some trout in there.

Just passed the trout pond overlooked on a bridge.

A couple hundred feet from the start of the trails to the lakes, a nice little spot next to the creek.

Had just came from that trail after climbing the first mountain. It leads all the way past those trees and wraps around to the right. Picture was taken about halfway to the second mountain.

Absolutely beautiful.

Trail is mostly next to the creek which leads up to the lakes.

5 hours later, the first lake!

Just another couple hundred feet now the second lake facing Temple Crag. Absolutely mesmerizing.

The water is glacier fed making the water turn a blueish/green color.

Only made it to the second lake because it was starting to rain a little. Walking back we decided to go down to the first lake.

Water is ICE cold. Only able to get in for a few seconds because my feet felt like they were going to freeze.

Little heart-shaped pond. There’s a total of 7 lakes (2 photographed above) and the first lake is about 4-5 miles from the Big Pine Creek Campgrounds in California. Absolutely stunning and totally worth the hike!
