Hello and welcome to the new installment of Ultimate Monotype Challenge. This time, we follow the adventures of Norman, a perfectly normal young man, who sets out to be the very best. In every Region. With only Normal type Pokémon. Because, let's be honest, other types of Pokémon are horrifying. Bugs? Poison? Fire? Dragon? No, thanks, only normal Pokémon for this trainer.
With that said, Norman quickly caught a Rattata and a Pidgey. Perfectly normal Pokémon, a cute little purple rat and a pigeon. In the first gym however, the lunatic named Brock sent out living stones! A rather cute round one but with arms! And a terrifying rock snake. Luckily, both had eyes, so some Sand Attacks later they hit next to nothing. And with the combined effort of the rat and the pigeon, repeatedly smashing into the rocks, Norman won the first badge. Yay. If that was just the first, what horrors might await him?
Starfish, apparently. This crazy redhead threw two large starfish at us. Both of them had gemstones embedded. Weird, but also kinda weak. Second badge, yay. On the way we marched through a bat infested cave, but managed to catch a cute pink fairy thing and Kirby.
The third badge. Some honorable veteran, but he had kind of a psycho aura. Telling me, how he would shock me like his enemies in the war. He then proceeded to throw some mice at me, yellow and sparkly. My rat, who had grown a lot and also learned how to Dig, evaded every lightning these crazy fuckers threw at him. I love my rat.
After exposing Kirby to a strange grey stone, it stretched, got bigger and overall cuter. The fairy just got bigger, when exposed to the same stone. Neither the rat nor the pigeon showed any interest at all in the stone. But, the veteran gave me a CD and ever since I showed the CD to Kirby, who I nicknamed Air (because he was so light), he could throw bolts of lighting around. So, when I encountered this horrifying snake of the sea, I called in an air strike. The snake didn't stand a chance. It didn't even slither a chance.
The next gym was pretty bonkers, too. Granted, the girls inside were cute, but they insisted on battling me with flowers. Alrighty then, my pigeon was hungry anyway. These gym leaders are a bunch of weirdos.
Had to free a whole city from inept idiots who called themselves Team Rocket. Apparently, the police is not capable of stopping these numbskulls. Then they let me into the second gym in this city. Weirdly enough, the first gym here didn't give me a badge, but wanted me to take a brawler instead. A literal boxer and a creepy strechyleg thing. Nope, thanks. Then this girl with her gym full of teleporters. Teleporters! Why do we walk again? Anyway, this chick had a weird combination of spoonbenders and moths, who were not a problem at all.
Off to Vegeta. This always surprising space warrior surprised again by setting up a gym full of living waste, flying bombs and invisible walls. In a city with a zoo! Yay. But in order to get there, I needed to wake up a giant bear, that was sleeping on the road. I caught it, but man, that was frightening. Now I really deserve that zoo. But work first, then enjoyment. Defeated Vegeta by flying out of range when his big bomb inevitably exploded. Didn't know, he descended from ninjas, though.
Oi! Kangaroo! With a little joey in the pouch! Of course I caught that, it's adorable. It was in the zoo, yeah, but nobody stopped me.
Then I had to swim to the next gym. Seriously, I was on a ship in the veterans city, where the hell is that thing? Not to mention teleporters, but no, I had to swim on the back of my bear. I called him Armstrong and I already loved him. He was rather comfortable than fierce, but hey, he was cuddly. This gyms leader was even crazier then the others, he had set fire to his horse! I told my bear to hop into the water and the resulting wave put the fire on the horse out. Fire trainers, man, fucking crazy.
Last gym. Back to the start. Really? He couldn't be there, when I first came through? I came into the gym, then I laughed. Hard. It was the boss of the ever so stupid Team Rocket, what? Then he sent it this and I stopped laughing. A fucking rhinoceros with a power drill on its nose! And scales hard as rock, what the fuck? Luckily, my bear still had loads of water in its fur and drowned the rhino.
Fucking psycho, man. Everyone is nuts here. I walked to the league then and let me tell you, these so called Elite Four are as crazy as the gym leaders. The last of them had dragons, for fuck sake! After I beat the Elite Four I was champ. Except, I wasn't. At least my childhood rival was a good sport, as he was all the way. Telling me where to find rare Pokémon or necessary items, always encouraging me to give it my best. Felt a little bad though when his gramps came and scolded him for losing the title so quickly. Hey, fucker, you didn't even remember your grandsons name and he beat the Elite Four the same way I did. Give him a little respect here.
My lovely pink fairy. When it wiggled its adorable fingers, everything could happen. One time, she exploded. She was fine, though, just utterly confused.
My pigeon! Bo, my bro! The ex champ had one of those pigeons too. Nice to see some normal Pokémon once in a while.
The kangaroo! Joey still inside the pouch! Don't tell me it's not adorable! It could punch so fast it confused opponents.
My rat. It could bite, dig, spit water, slam itself into the opponent really fast... I love my rat.
Kirby! What do we do with a Gyarados, say, what do we do with a Gyarados, say, what do we do with a Gyarados, say? Calling in an Air strike!
It also could shoot freezing beams and bend spoons with its mind. Nice!
And lastly, my bear. I grew very fond of him very quickly. I will try to catch him in every region!
