Old link, but the lawsuit is about how Meta's chat bot was having sexually explicit conversations with underage users, which the company later claimed they didn't know about before the news broke to the public, but some internal memos were leaked that proved that they knew damn well that it was happening the whole time.

It's saying that it will be allocated to that, yes. $420 to treatment; the rest to awareness/prevention/screening/etc. It is saying that that is what the judge is ordering.
Once the money's out of Meta's hands, I have... at least favorable hopes it will be used as stated. I'm not signing guarantees, but I would say the odds are pretty up there.

It's STILL a start. That's going to be $420M spent on treating children's mental health, and $147M toward the associated programs.
It's not substantially hurting Meta, but it's a LOT better than NOT putting that money to good, essential use. I'm not going to say "no, wait until he offers a billion" and tell the kids they can't have any services until then.
Of course, it doesn't end here. We can and should push for more. But let's cash one check at a time, okay?
