This was (is) a fantastic game that's a bit hard to describe but I'll do my best. It's an arena duelling system where you control and move your character in destructible environs. Through solo or multiplayer you unlock abilities with varying mana costs, that you build into a limited deck.
During combat, your abilities are randomly drawn and placed at your base in the form of a handful of orbs, that you chose to acquire during combat and form your hand. This could be mana, long/short range missle attacks, burrowing ground attacks, melee, abilities that drain mana or smash your opponents orbs, etc.
Since you and your enemies all have to acquire new skills via your base orbs as you use them up, it leads to a fun game of cat and mouse, push and pull, based on deck builds.
The multiplayer is good enough, but on top of that is a story mode that slowly unfurls the fragmented memories of the world around you, the origin of the magics you wield, and many feels, with voice acting/narration by Steve Blum.
This game holds a special place in my heart, back during the infancy of Xbox Live. The community was amazing, and this region free gem let you play with JP players.
I'll never forget smashing the orbs to the half laughing half pleading cries of my JP opponent, trying his best to speak, "No..nu sumRUNgoodu!" I don't know where you are, I don't even remember your username... But I still think of you when I think of this game. I how you're doing well.
Anyways, tomorrow its free! Please give this game a try, or revisit it with me.

I loved this game so much. I was so bummed when the sequel's production was cancelled. Do you have a download source?
