So here's the thing I have been receiving these messages I guess from bot's a lot and all of they are 19 F, I mean WTF. I feared this would happen with this new chat update. The last thing that should happen to Imgur is to become goddamn place for hooking up(fake ones ), and that's just my opinion.
I will be reporting the bot, user or whatever to Imgur, and please spread the word in the community if you feel so.
And lastly I am alone and its New Year time, I know you it's the BOT's but please stop toying with my emotions. 19 F sheet.

@Op, do you get the feeling that you get so many messages from bots because you keep responding to them?

bots seem to work with the autocompletion feature of the messages, type character, let the autocompletion gives you the full username list

So, why do some folks (like me) not get bot messages? I should be getting hammered if that were the only part of it.

because the imgur base is bigger than the bots can handle for now ? the guy have "MA" as the first letters, i have "GE" you have CR ,

It's the same test phone bots do to check for voicemail versus a live caller.

I got one bot message. I didn't respond to the initial greeting, so it went away. The script test for activity.

maybe it first goes for Letter + vowels then switch to letters + letters ?
