This is the Judge, Court Judge Craig Karsnitz, who said, "yeah sure CORPERATIONS are allowed to vote in our elections." Other corporations are already seeing this and are salivating on the idea, they are hoping it gets appealed and goes straight up to the SCOTUS.

Not clicking that link. Anything with "Border Report" in the headings tells me it's a radical right angertainment rag. I will note that it's Delaware, which is home to most of your favorite corporations and has practices for corporate law found nowhere else in the country. Nonetheless I wonder about the mechanics of this: does a corporation have to be a citizen and 18 and not a felon?

How many thousands (hundreds of thousands) of companies are incorporated in Deleware, though? Will they only be allowed to vote in the district they're incorporated in? That would be weird.

Delaware will have to do what Hawaii has done, and about 8 other states are looking into.
Instead of fighting the courts against "Citizens United" bullshit, where corporations with free speech rights can donate to politicians, Hawaii just redefined corporations charters without free speech rights.
Btw, "Citizens United" should be called "Corporations United" since it's backed created by corporations and billionaires. But they gave it a populous name to fool many.

Citizens United basically ruled that you could not prevent a group of Citizens from spending money collectively. That included unions, political organizations (PACS), corporations, etc.
While I strongly disagree with Citizens United, I don’t think the Scotus will support limiting a corporation’s charter to reduce their “rights” as Hawaii has done. This corrupt SCOTUS aside, a state cannot limit inherent rights.
However, I also don’t see this voting decision standing even in this SCOTUS.

Corporations are created by law, they are not born.
The Supreme Court has already affirmed that states have virtually unlimited authority to modify and withdraw the powers they grant to their corporations.

Republicans do that all the time, though. Citizens United is about giving companies more rights. Any law mentioning family in the name is usually an anti gay or Trans or abortion bill used to ruin peoples lives. Gun rights laws... no, wait, they usually name those gun rights laws.... wierd....
Seriously though, they love to name laws in ways that obfuscate their actual purpose all the time.

Courts can't tell states how to write corporations charters rules. Each state defines their own rules how corporations operate in their state (i.e. are chartered in that state).
Just redine the charter rules. Fuck you SCOTUS.

the thing is if they are now considered, "voters" then they have to go by the law where they have to be 18 years of age to vote. Also they have to be taxed heavily now that the companies are "Voters" So this can go either way. Where it might screw us or it will cost so much towards companies that its just not worth it in the end. Hopefully.

And now be eligible for the draft. So I guess that means the founder, CEO, President, etc will now have to go off to fight wars. What? Too old? Handicap limited? Then someone from their family will now be volunteered as a stand in.
