The Lost Mines of Phandelver, Finished!!

The map in total (give or take a couple inches there on the left side. This thing is huge and I was already having to stand in a chair to photograph it :( A lot of my in-progress photos got deleted by accident, so I'm sorry I only have the finished map to show :( It turned out to be a great session though!

Textures!

After my previous post ( http://imgur.com/gallery/J1Jja ) I decided that the smooth look of the carved styrofoam wasn't enough, so I took the whole thing outside and melted it with a woodburner. Protip: DO NOT DO THIS. Even though I was outside and it was breezy, I had a sore throat for two days. Probably have cancer now or something.

After painting, I added a thin coat of Mod-podge and then threw some sand on there for a more realistic feel (and to hide particularly bad paint spots)

The Fungal Cavern

This actually ended up being the party's favorite room, and it was mine too. They wanted to camp out there for a while and rest, until they started failing those CON saves and the spore clouds were getting nasty.

I made the mushrooms out of sculpey clay and painted them, and the mossy stuff is a bag of lichen I got from Hobby Lobby. Some of it I painted, some I left the natural color. That moss stunk. The whole kitchen smelled bad just from leaving the open bag on the table.

"The Starry Cavern"

Yeah, I know in the book the fungal cavern was supposed to glow green and this one was suppose to be multi-colored... I think (honestly I can't remember) but I used what I could find. Protip #2 : If you decide to make your own starry cavern - paint your styrofoam before you glue your crystals on. Painting around is a pain. Removing said crystals and reapplying them later is also a pain. Just do it in the right order, don't be like me.

The Spellforge

I know the brazier was supposed to have a magical green flame, but I couldn't find a single green LED and I am not electrically minded or very tech-savy, so I just used a normal flickering one, like what you'd put in a tealight holder.

I wish the fit could've been a little better between the battery pack and the board, but I buggered it up when I was cutting the hole and was too frustrated at that point to redo it :( Next time, I'll do better.

There were a few little pieces of furniture like this scattered around. I would've made more but the mapt was already starting to get crowded.

The Temple of Dumathoin

Where the final showdown with Neznarr took place. Funny story - the party was convinced the statue was going to come to life and start attacking them, so they took all these extra precautions to dance around it.

The statue is carved Balsa wood and the columns are rolled up paper, sealed on the top with little circles of sculpey clay. I had a LOT of fun carving the statue. Probably one of my favorite bits :D

 Yes, I know the paint job on the whole thing is sloppy - but I learned a whole bunch and I know the next map I make (which is mythical, according to my husband - he says I'm crazy for already planning the next one) will be way more awesome!

 Sooooo, now I have a huge dungeon and I don't know what to do with it. Suggestions?
