That depends on the accuracy of your GPS signal.

If you have a clear signal, and a good receiver. If you have a bad signal, and/or a crappy receiver you can go 'walkabout' sitting down.

It's set to 20km/hr so about 12mph. But with all the server issues and inconsistent gps tracking it jumps a lot and thinks you're faster.

Its even dumber than you think. GPS isnt sensitive enough in a phone to detect that ceiling fan movement. It works by idle recalibration.

Kinda. Since GPS needs line-of-sight to calibrate cleanly, being indoors will make it get funky. That said, your phone will idle out.

Sorry, not true. I tested this out of curiosity. Idle for 6 hours- .2 km gained. On a cord tied to a ceiling fan for 1 hour- 1km gained.

That's not because of the ceiling fan, that's because of the GPS trying to fix your position, thus making your character run back and forth
