#23 ...even worse when it's been spelled correctly by you, but stupid auto correct/predictive text changes it after you already entered it.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

This causes me, whose vocabulary is rather expansive, to type and retype so many sentences…. Fuck autocorrect with a rusty poker

Yeah, definitely should have been in the picture. Probably as the only example, and it would have been even truer.

Also, completely disagree -- milk is good.

I think of that one as being part of whatever list precedes this, since this refers to additional words.

#27 I have this lil conspiracy theory that luxury product names with unusual pronunciation are a deliberate attempt at a shibboleth. Lets the rich claim the new pronunciation as a way of separating themselves from the proles. Anyone who compliments your "Her Mees" purse is one of "the poors" who doesn't know any better.

#6 Is THC-infused coffee a thing? Or can it be?
Because "The High Grounds" would be a great name for such a place.

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Dunno about a coffee place with it, but a quick internet search says it's technically a thing, but more a DIY thing. Couldn't find pre-made. Granted, you're mixing an upper and downer, so likely mixed results.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, some people go for that though ... I mean, rum & Coke, vodka & Red Bull ...

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Briefly forgot about alcohol mixes. Also, I've never heard of that latter mix. Sounds unpleasant.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed, never tried it myself.

He has a manicured beard and walks around in robes. The man pretty much belongs in Portland, OR and you're asking me if he has a coffee shop?

Copying from AFairlyCommonPepe's deeper comment: https://technopathology.substack.com/p/neil-gaiman-is-innocent-too-long-1ef

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 7

I would love to believe this is true.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately its almost all ad hominem attacks against imperfect victims

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No, fuck that, fuck him, and fuck you too. Believe victims. Don’t protect rapists.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't protect rapists. I do, however, keep an open mind for the VERY RARE but extant instances of stories being twisted, sometimes by interested parties who were not the original survivors. I draw no conclusions here, because I dont have infinite mental energy to parse this situation. And I don't pile on the attack of someone when there *seems* to be the reasonable doubt that things aren't as simple as the popular story provides. I'm not singing Gaiman's innocence or deriding survivors.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

You linked an article titled “Neil Gaiman is Innocent”.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is not necessarily the case that I wholeheartedly agree with every article I might link. I think the information may be worth others seeing. It definitely has a bold title, one I can't vouch for. The *content* of the article is what is worth actually examining for its potential value.

If I only ever linked things that perfectly reflected my view, I'd link nothing.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'm not finding original sources on this blog's claims and they seem to be cataloging every time these women dressed provocatively as evidence that they're lying.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think he wrote a couple of good books too.

4 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 3

Yeah he did. He *USED* to be one of my favorite authors.
Now, he can politely go fuck himself. I can not "un-buy" the books I have. But I can tell people not to buy anything from him.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I choose to believe Terry write GO by himself

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

He wrote some really good novels, and short stories, and comics, and movies, and TV show episodes. He's also very LGBTQ+ positive, and pro free speech. However, due to the sexual abuse and assault allegations, The Good Omens TV series is only getting a 2 hour movie finale instead of a full 3rd season. The Sandman TV series ended after 2 seasons. It's a shame his personal actions have tainted so much work.

4 months ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

He has a fantastical and amazing brain, but that’s how actions work. The real shame is that he wasn’t raised/surrounded by people who could have instilled in him the ideals that such actions are unacceptable. I say this as a plea to everyone that when you see your people exhibiting troubling behavior, please, I implore you, if you have the bandwidth, talk to them, share with them, and show them true compassion and vulnerability.

4 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Not that this excuses his behavior, but his dad was a prominent Scientologist and allegedly once, as punishment, nearly downed him in a bathtub. Gaiman wrote about it in fictionalized form in The Ocean at the End of the Lane. Cycles of abuse take work to break.

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

He also wrote a story about a writer keeping a woman hostage and raping her to have a muse.

=/ =/ =/

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No he didn't.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 18

What?

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Just like that FART bitch.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 17

He did. He was one of my idols. A huge influence on my own writing. And when I found out what a monster he is, he was dead to me, and we should regard all his works with the same disgust as we regard him. Maybe we can enjoy them again after he’s dead. Until then, they’re tainted.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

God help me, that shit bummed me out more than I can easily describe.

It was like finding out your buddy from college used to strangle puppies ... but somehow worse.

4 months ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 1

I've seen this exact exchange, word for word, on three different posts featuring a meme relating to Neil Gaiman now

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is all the same bullshit that’s used to defend every single other famous rapist. This is why women don’t report. Stop defending rapists and stop attacking victims. Fuck whoever wrote that trash on the Nazi platform and fuck you for sharing it.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is definitely new-news to me and I thank you for it.

4 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

It would be nice to believe this, but I'm trying to follow the links back to original sources and a lot of them reference other sections of the same blog, or public evidence where I have no idea whether or not it supports the blogs claims and then a lot of stuff that seems to be "she wore a low cut shirt and drew a boob comic so we can't believe her"

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He raped them, didn’t he?

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 7

wellllll it's less disgusting than Trump, but that bar is way too low

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It’s kinda worse than that, actually. I mean, yes, but so much more.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He once anally raped someone with no lube and made her lick him clean. And he made her call him master often enough his pre-teen child told her to call him master, too. Theres implications there.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Bud I dont want your weird ass ad hominen attacks defending an author who doesn't give a fuck about you. Ive mourned him as one of my favorites and ive read what he himself gave as shitty defenses over it.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Stop protecting rapists.
