Discussion: Do you think Alderaan was warned that the Death Star entered their orbit? Or maybe a warning that it was about to fire? What are the Galactic Rule of Engagements?

Did the death star really enter the orbit? I just assumed it could target from a considerable range.

Empire doesn’t follow standard ROE but a small moon entering orbit producing huge amounts of energy would have been noticed, yes.

YEa, like why wouldn't Alderaan start an evac of the planet? They had to of having some emergency procedure to get off the planet ASAP

It’s likely they didn’t see it as a threat. Up to that point there had never been a weapon that large
