I used to think a lot about how much technology changed over previous generations, but less so about how much culture changed. Especially our empathy and appreciation of dogs. "Bitch" used to be an A tier derogatory term, but today, we can substitute Dolly for the dog in a celebration of life meme, and it absolutely hits. RIP Dolly - you really were an exceptionally awesome example of what our kind could be.

Definitely, look back at the 60's -70's. There was a lot of cultural change in America like hippies, Woodstock, and the anti-war movement, but it didn't really translate to a whole lot of change politically. Sure there was change but not as much as one would've thought. I guess it's just a train of thought I've pondered for a while. And there are many other factors involved as to why it turned out the way it did.
