Before we start, I want to make clear to everyone that Finn is still alive, this story does not end with a dead dog.
When my sister and I left home, my Mum bought a puppy to replace us. I'd recently moved to a new city, where I didn't know anyone, so went to see the pup as often as I was able. We bonded, because, well look at the cute bastard, how could you not. He was always full of beans, using me as a human climbing frame, finding adventures (climbing on top of the dining room table, searching for treasure in the garden, chasing rabbits, hunting for frogs). He's never been able to put on weight though, no matter how much he was fed. Recently, my Mum's arthritis has become worse, to the point she can't walk 5 minutes to the shops, let alone take the wee pup out for his daily walks. After a lot of soul searching, crying, and debate, she made the hard decision to give him up to a better home. Somewhere where he'll be able to enjoy himself, to get the exercise, care and attention he needs. I know it's for the best, that it's the right thing to do, but that doesn't make it any easier. Nor does knowing that I won't get to see him again before he goes to his new home.
I hope Imgur enjoys his cuteness, his fashion sense, and his wee piggy nose. If his new owners see this, know that he was loved greatly, and that he is the best boy you could ever want. Know also that if any harm comes to him, I will go full John Wick on you...
