I'm OpenMindedMuslim and I'm an Open Minded Muslim. (dur)
Everytime I come across a certain issue with Islam and I want to discuss about it - I always get ignored or just insulted. So I'm here today to take any questions, doubts, or topics about Islam and discuss them with anyone here.
No need to hold back. One can never break the boundaries of misunderstanding or stereotypes but by knowledge! You can give me the quotes from the Quran often misquoted, the hadiths, the facts or the info and I'll try my best to give my understanding of it from my perspective, as a Muslim.

I read that - it'll be interesting to say the least but as i recall, it was written on animal skins and there is quite a large leeway

Birth control is very popular. It's encouraged by govts and shieks to stop the ridiculous birth rate. I know women from Saudi to Yemen 1/2

I was reading the other day the fact that music is haram is a very ambiguous subject in the muslim community, whats your stance on it?

I've asked this before. What isn't allowed is music that encourages bad stuff like drugs, clubs, sex, etc. Islamic music is widely popular

Why do so many Muslims let their parents control their love lives? Is it a cultural thing?

Yup. Male/female romantic relationships are generally not allowed in Islam so it's become custom to let the parents do the work. 1/2

That was back before social interaction but these days, parents often support the child's choice, I'd say go for it you might be surprised!

In general, to be pure. Some think it's compulsory others don't (no consensus). According to my sister, so she doesn't do her hair 1/2

2/2 Islam is heavy on the male/female separation aspect. It's one of the laws such as men shouldn't stare at women, hit on them, etc

It's very contradictory and there are movements against it in general but it's become more normal to leave some hair out or wear tight cloth
