Yesterday I got my GCSE results, which turned out to be better than what I'd expected. During my last year in secondary school I was 100% I was going to do ICT Networking & System support but with my grades I can do more than one course. I'm a tech fan and one day I'd love to work for tech companies like (Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Tesla, Apple) and work in a team to build/create something exciting but I know it's not easy and that these companies are very fond of engineers - especially software engineers - but I'm simply not in love with programming (Don't hate it but don't see myself doing it either). During the College enrolment the head of Computing made me realise that I'm simply not technical and Graphic Design & Media Studies would be a better route for me. Despite me being interested in the aforementioned routes I'm afraid I'll end up without a job and that tech companies won't even consider people like me.
I made this post because I know there are people here that might work in Tech industries and I would really appreciate some professional advice. Thank you if you read the whole thing.
TL; DR: Was considering IT Networking & System support as course but realised I'm more creative than that. But scared I'll be jobless.

Just because you major in one field doesn't mean you are locked down to that field bro. I can't say how diverse your options and pay will be

Take a year out, and think about it. At your age a year seems like a lifetime, but believe me you'll appreciate it if you do.

Go into a trade.

Pursue creative but take maths as a backup. Maths will support anything.

Have you looked into 3D Graphics? There are tons of cool careers that split tech/creative.

Do something because you want to, not because you'll get paid better doing something else

Thanks, that's q good advice, but the pay isn't even the problem. It's whether or not Designers are needed in those kind of companies.

I work in one of the big companies you mentioned. We are expanding everywhere now and in a year or two will need people a network background

I studied way different stuff and I got a job off my life experiences tbh. It's not all tech but it helps.

Not really. I can't really tell you what I do but it's security related within a massive company. I love my job and I learn all the time.
