I got to the airport way too early because that's the only bus, so I had about 4 hours to kill.

On my walks around the terminal, I found Godzilla cookies...

...and more gatcha than anyone ever needs.

This was my favourite - rabbit hats for cats!

After successfully finding an Alex, getting on an extremely crowded Shinkansen back up North and napping off the jet lag we had a huge feast at the best tonkatsu restaurant in town.

A Japanese/British fusion of 'Christmas cake' and a cup of tea, as a late Christmas and also a New Years toast.

The next culinary adventure was Lotteria's 'fondue burger'.

Next, off to Aizu Castle to find out about battles and stuff.

Though actually it was all just to go get the area speciality: sauce katsu! Can you tell we both like katsu?

On the return from stuffing our faces we found Harambe, training for revenge above a kyabakura.

More tasty (?) food at home - curry and chicken nuggets.

Second attempt at getting Alex to try nabe - much tastier than the one in Tokyo, also super sweet staff that make me want to go back many more times.

They even gave us free brownies with a cute New Years chicken!

Drawing eyes on our Daruma right before he left. You draw on one eye when you decide on a goal, and the other when you eventually complete it. Also a little tsum, because we had some (early! sacrilege!) kagami mochi so he could try some before getting a early morning lift to the bus stop in the snow.

I'm gonna need a fondue burger now.

It was so intensely cheesy I could feel my stomach hurting just watching him eat it. Damn lactose intolerance
