Frustrated
MRW the job search committee's chair has left me a voicemail saying how everyone was "very impressed with me" (at the first (phone) interview) and that my "performance was just excellent", but they will not be inviting me for the second interview because "the committee felt that it was too early in your career to have this position".

I don't know, that sounds like bs, if they are not giving you a position because you don't fit some non-perforamance based profile.

I wish! I already work there. I'm the associate director and applied for the director position. I've been doing the job of the (1 of 2)

That does suck, I've been in a similar situation, although in my case it was a case of me doing the work anyway, and then not wanting (1/2)
